Well I know Young Griff is quite a controversial character but so far I like his inclusion to the 'Game'. I'm going to try and put a good dent in it this weekend.

This is show related but if that's the case the show could totally leave out the first two Davos chapters of ADWD and not really miss a thing.

I put up a non-spoiler review over on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/review/R3Q7ZV3...&tag=&linkCode

It's gone about as well as I figured a positive review would - mega-hater-attack in the way of negative feedback. Oh well.

Seriously, people are positive-feedbacking anything with a low score and negative-feedbacking anything with a high score.

The Song of Ice and Fire books are fantasy books for people who hate fantasy. It's unbelievable how overrated they are. With that said, I actually find the show alot more entertaining.

What do you think is overrated about them?

I don't even know how to make sense of that.

I love fantasy. Outside of the English canon of literature, fantasy is pretty much all I read. Oh, did I just debunk your statement?

Have you ever read any of them? If you have, and you can't recognize the high level of prose and all levels of narrative writing involved, then wow, I don't know what to say.

I hate the internet. In the middle of reading Storm of Swords right now, but while poking around for news of Game of Thrones Season 2, I stumbled across the Red Wedding without so much as a spoiler alert. I hate being spoiled, but the dramatic irony is so palpable now...

Oh man. Don't even utter those words. Seriously. Spoiler that ****.

I stayed away from pretty much everything ASoIaF-related, outside of posting here, for the weeks leading up to the release of ADwD, and for the week it took me to read it.

Major Clash of King spoilers, so be warned (though I imagine most have read it)

Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
I read the first Davos chapter after Renly's death, it's when Stannis wants to take Storm's End. I'm assuming Melisandre killed Renly since Davos describes the shadow thing she "gives birth" to kill Ser Penrose as resembling Stannis' shadow, which is the same thing Cat said. Now to find out if Stannis is aware of any of this, I have a feeling he's being played.

Indeed. I'm interested to see how this is approached in the show next season.

Creepy ****, right? Just keep going further down the spiral, man.

There's no hope for any of us.

Well, except for zanos there, since apparently A Song of Ice and Fire totally sucks.

Those 2 scenes are going to be VERY confusing to the viewers. I've been filling my mom in on what's happened in ACOK (she doesn't care about spoilers, she has other books she wants to read before this series). I won't bother trying to explain that.

Creepy, bizarre, and confusing.

Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
I definitely think Melisandre is up to something and is using Stannis. If he had listened to Davos and attacked King's Landing, he would have easily captured it since Tywin was going west and the chapter before had the huge riot in the city. But I have a feeling that question still isn't answered by ADWD.

I don't know if I'd say "using." You'll find out eventually.

The passage of the story. Maybe toward the end of ACoK, if not, then definitely in ASoS and then ADwD. Yeah, I can't claim it's really any particular one of them.

But it also depends on how hard you're using the term, too.

I think Melisandre has another reason to be following and helping Stannis other than thinking he's Azor Ahai reborn.

I feel let down.

Still only half way through, sorry got sick this weekend. but my ADWD POV rating so far. (No real spoilers except to know who has POV's in ADWD)
Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
1) Bran (awesome stuff there) 2) Reek (um, holly ****! The Boltons are messed up!) 3) Asha 4)Tyrion 5) Jon 6) Griff 7) Dany (dissapointing so far) 8) Davos (started weak but got good) 9) Melisandre (also a bit dissapointed in her POV) 10) Quentyn Martel (the 'Turtle' from Entourage of ASOIF). Still looking forward to the Jaime and Cersei POV and Arya. Victarion I think also has one coming up too.
