The New Guardians

Pros: Kyle, the concept of pulling guardians from the ranks rather than emotionally stunted blue overlords.

Cons: Rainbow Lanterns every single month, Tony Bedard, probably some extremely annoying characters from some of the other colors' corps (especially the Red Lanterns and the Star Sapphires), what exactly are they the guardians of?

I may try it out for an issue or two. Doesn't sound especially exciting, though. None of those do, except maybe Tomasi coming back to GLC. Maybe he'll buck the trend and actually write an interesting John.

I expected the Red Lanterns not to get a book at all.

But I guess gleeful violence and gore is cool and makes for interesting, mature stories.

Well, Peter Milligan is writing it and if there's anyone out there who can make something worthwhile out it, it's him. Not that I'm particularly interested in it, but never count out the Milligan.

Same. However great a writer Milligan is, you can't get blood from a stone. Although the Red Lantern book will obviously not want for blood in general...

Well if they approach the mag like it's the Spectre or an anthology. Get a Kill Bill type story of bloody vengeance every issue.

Now that would be brave AND bold.

Yep I will read the first few issues just because Milligan is writing and he is usually fab

But i doubt this series is going to interest me. Not very optimistic about it

a little late but I just read Flashpoint Abin Sur #1 and my gods I squeeled like a little girl of joy when I noticed they're using the movie-designs on the characters <3

Yes. It was memorable. He left out the part where Sinestro kills her in cold blood while she was breaking free from the Red Lantern's influence.

I remember it distinctly because at the time Corp was asking people if Sinestro has done anything really bad lately. I thought this instance was a prime example.
