I like it but would also like to see the little yellow notch at the top....I just can't get over the absence of it. I don't know why...

Sorry but to me you shouldnt mess with the S. So although it is a nice piece of art, its not Superman.

Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:

thoughts?
I liked that it was not a complete pentagon. And nothing against what you did -- you were just responding to other people ideas -- but I have a feeling people are gonna keep tweaking it until it looks like the classic -- which kind of defeats the point.

My only issue was the proportion/perspective, I really like the whole idea of it otherwise.

I think I'm on that bandwagon as well, but I'd prefer a less obvious S and more looking like a symbol. I think that's just a question about the size of the outside stroke.

Reeve logo. But if we see a new logo I won't be mad. Loving the new logo seen here.

Alyn, Reeves, Reeve, Cain and Routh each got their own individual Superman logos looking drastically different from the rest.

Cavill should and most likely will get his own too.

I would disagree that they are drastically different (with the exception of SR), but they definitely different.

If you look at the chart posted above, there is an evolution of the symbol (some more subtle than others) and I think Supermed's is a natural evolution.

Yeah Cavill getting his own logo is best because he is the new Superman.

I agree...I think Cavill should have his own logo but nothing too drastically changed.

The reason these two manipulations don't "work" for me is the lighting. It's more obvious in the second chop that'll the first, but they both have lighting issues. In the second photo, Diane Lane is being lit from the right (our left) and Costner's head is being lit from the left (our right.) It throws off the photo and is an obvious sign that it is manipulated.

Its less obvious in the first photo, but Adams is lit from the left (our right) and Cavill is lit from the right (our left.)

Just something to keep in mind in future endeavors.

the manips of Adams and Cavill and Lane and Costner do not need to be posted anymore. I hate **** talking other people's work and Lord knows I can't do any better but if you don't have the right equipment to do this kinda stuff just don't half-ass it and make something that looks terrible...just don't do it period. Which is why I don't do any manips...I don't have the equipment or the skills

nah that's wrong. it's called "FAN art" not "OFFICIAL art"....fan art often tend to be lower quality. if you don't like it then just ignore it....but i don't think you should ever DISCOURAGE someone from making fan art all-together. constructive criticism like Puckenstein's post is great because it shows the hypester how they can improve. i've gotten on Indy about his manips because he used to manip Cavill's head too big or too small and they were always pixelized, but he's gotten a lot better since then.

there's no need to tell someone to not do anything at all.

Maybe so but after several attempts to fix something or to do better and you don't make any progress and maybe possibly get worse I think it's time to hang it up...no shame in admitting that you can't do something. There are tons of things I can't do and manips just happen to be one of the many things I can't do

I still think the best shield is the SR or the Smallville versions..reeves' really looks old and i'm sure will look out of place in this present time and in the reboot...

and please let's not bother about having a new logo.. changing the a new logo means changing the franchise because the shield is the face and heart and soulf of the franchise... i don think superman franchise will not change the shield so dramatically (no offense, i think that new shield is sweet) that the "old folks" won't be able to recognize em..

just sayin..

I agree, everyone that loves to do manips and fan art should continue to do so (no matter how "bad" you are)

You're quite right. And Supermed's concept looks like something plausible from that POV.

Exactly... it's a "new and fresh" take on the shield, while stll remaining faithful to it.
