I'm going to get killed for this I think...
![]() But I would not be averse to MoS being filmed in 3D. I feel it would be so cool, if Henry as Superman in the classic suit came flying out of the screen at us. There. I said it. Obviously, it should also be available in 2D for those who don't like 3D. |

It felt real, because it was real. None of the half dozen superhero films dealing with flying men, have come close to capturing the thrill of being up in the air. That should be telling. |

Absolutely, amen to that. There might be one exception for me, and that would be the original Star Wars trilogy. |

It's a relatively minor effect but important IMO.
Assuming the over-used kryptonite will yet again be used in MOS, I'd like to see more than Superman just dropping to the floor and that's it. It's be a cool touch to have his skin turn a yellow green or maybe have the veins buldge as they did in Smallville. Show him sweating, sweat stains on his suit. Something to bring home to the viewer the lethality of kryptonite. And Superman needs to be shown in great pain, struggling to breath or to move. The climatic scene in S:TM didn't really capture this kind of intensity. IMO it's an important detail to make that for sure scene where Superman is trapped by kryptonite all the more powerful. |

3D is crap whether it's filmed in 3D or post-converted.

3D can be good if it's used as a narrative tool to help bring the story to life and not as a gimmick.
As for post-converted 3D, it also could be good if it's done well. But of course not all existing movies should be converted to 3D |

It's not possible for 3D to NOT be a gimmick. It's inherently a gimmick.

Well, I think that 3D is only a gimmick if it chooses to be as a gimmick.

The 3D in Transformers was the best of any film to date. Also that last action sequence was seriously over an hour long. I don't think anyone does action quite like Bay.

Having seen TF3 yesterday , i just hope that that they at leat match the scenes involving the flying wingsuit guys.
Seriously that sequence was amazing in 3d. The depth was astounding as these guys flew between buildings. I am curious though as to whether Snyder has succeeded in his new 3d filming technique.

I disagree... Just look at Reeve's eyes as he stares at the krypyonite. He's never felt pain before, and it scares the sh** outta him.

Make some kind of visible change occur - skin color, veins bulging a la Smallville. Show Supes having a hard time breathing, his suit stained with sweat. Make it intense. |

The 3D was good in Transformer 3 but afterwards, I told my friends it doesn't 'enhance' the experience in the long run.

Not sure by what you mean in the long run but Transformers was one of the few films where the 3D made the film more enjoyable. I'm not saying it works for every film but when you have a camera looking up at a gigantic Optimus Prime while panning, it really adds the immersion. He really did feel immense. It felt as if you were looking at a 3D world with a big of robot in front of you.

Which is exactly what S:TM did relative to the George Reeves Adventures of Superman TV series. S:TM created a new Superman for a new generation. Should we expect anything less now? Should we have expected less in 2006 a full 28 years after S:TM and more than a generation away? Singer failed to grasp this simple, I guess not so simple, concept. He mirrored S:TM is so many ways it's embarrasing. Scene for scene, crypted line for crypted line. He showed no creative vision and added nothing to the mythos. His hiring of Routh was a disaster cause it was for all the wrong reasons. Routh looked like Reeve and could sort of mimick him - but was not allowed to bring anything of himself to the role. Course the biggest disaster IMO was the hiring of Singer. I may be in the minority on that but that is what I absolutely believe. It's a hermenutics of continuity kind of thing. Onto the here and now. Snyder had best move past the Donnerverse - if he doesn't he is failing to do what Donner himself did in moving past the George Reeves/Adventures of Superman universe. IMHO. I like 3D, but I do not like those films shot in 2D and converted in post-production to 3D. They are almost always inferior to a movie shot with 3D cameras in the first place. One thing I have found is that watching 3D on my Panasonic Plasma is almost always clearer and brighter than when I viewed the movie in the cinema. Anyhow, I hope 3D is here to stay. But as I said before, the customer should always have the choice. 2D or not 2D? That is the question.
