My thoughts exactly. Hendricks has a gorgeous face and is pleasingly busty, but those are the only WW qualities I see in her. It's nice that she's not rail-thin and fragile like 90% of Hollywood. But unfortunately she also falls on the wrong side of the spectrum by being too hefty to buy into as someone who is a top-tier warrior.

An actress with Jessica Biel's build is rather ideal. Maybe even just a tad bit meatier. But anything short or over that, is honestly wrong for the part.

If the established material isn't giving you much to work with, a fresh reinterpretation might not be enough to elevate the antagonist role. You might as well start completely anew as you aren't restrained by anything. He's right, WW lacks that quintessential arch-nemesis. If he can conceivably create one, why not?

I've actually come around with the whole original villain thing for WW, or maybe an amalgamation of a couple of WW villains, but I still think her actual baddies list should be looked at first. If it's a 'name' villain you're looking for one way or another you're not going to get it with WW.

With her origin dealing with Greek mythology, the natural first villain would be found there. Names like Hercules, Ares, and Hades are familiar names to the public because of their prominence in Greek mythology.

A filmmaker can use them and just make them for their own interpretation.

There is no need to invent a new villain, the established ones can formed to a filmmaker's ideas.

When Refn first talked about Hippolyta possibly being an enemy, I imagined some drama going on between Diana and Hippolyta on Themyscira. Since they are royalty ruling a society, there can be some political intrigue and power struggles there, coupled with the mother/daughter relationship. That sort of stuff is popular these days what with Game of Thrones, Spartacus, The Tudors etc. As well as this trend now of these fairy tale movies like Snow White and Maleficent.

It could be tricky since Themyscira and the Amazons are supposed to be peaceful, but there could be problems within that society and Diana could be involved in that or even the cause of that.

Not that it should be only about that. I would like to see modern stuff as well. I would still like to see a mixture of ancient and modern and maybe it can span different times and eras, since the Amazons are immortal.

Yeah; I haven't seen this director's films, nor can I really speak on his choice for the role, but if WB is smart they'll take a serious look at him--they need someone who's passionate about the franchise, period. None of this "Let's get David E. Kelly, people watch his stuff" crap. Get somebody who wants to make a damn Wonder Woman movie happen.

It's definitely encouraging that someone wants to make a WW film, but it's up to WB to hear the man out, given WW Tv failure and now GL I'm doubtful they're in any rush to be listening anytime soon.

If Circe is ever a villain, what movie do you think would be good to introduce her in? I don't necessarily see her being the villain in the first movie, though maybe she can be a side villain who we see growing more evil as the movie goes by.

I still say go with Cheetah, but just make her more of a supernatural villain than a genetically altered one. That makes her more of a match. Maybe connect her to Ares in some manner, I don't know.

Well as long as it hasn't even got a producer, it looks like a long shot. But a year ago Nicolas Winding Refn expressed interest in directing it, and he is probably the best guy to do it, he has an idea of where he wants to go with it. Hendricks is probably not the best choice though. It will take a couple of years to develope a good script, and before the movie can actually go into production, she will be to old.

Wonder Woman isn't doing anything expect clawing by with respectable comic sales and animated guest appearences for at least the next few years.

And enjoying being a moderate pop culture icon... ''in her satin tights, fighting for your rights''.

Refn expressed interest as far back as early last year, long before the TV show was even mooted.

I don't see how Ares isn't a suitable villain for a WW movie. Even if somebody knows nothing about the comics, the fact that Ares is a real mythological figure who has been adapted in numerous stories will give him instant name recognition.

The idea of an evil god automatically gives weight to the movie's conflict. As a concept, the God of War is a versatile one that can stand against everything WW should be against. He can face her on the battlefield, or disguise himself and manipulate mortal leaders around the world. It's an easy way to to handle themes of fear, hate, prejudice, nationalism, moderation, and truth.

A "Cult of Ares" (like the one in the animated movie, but expanded upon) would be an easy way to provide Ares with underlings for WW to fight. They could be a stand in for real terrorist groups.

Why is it all of a sudden news then? Did he bring it up again recently?

He's out promoting his new movie so I guess someone asked in light of GL coming out. I doubt he just randomly mentioned it.

I was going to write an outline but I had other stuff to do. I'll try and finish one and post it later. My villain would be Ares.

It'll be refreshing to talk about something other than the TV show or having multiple pages filled with blocks of text arguing about nothing

Add one more no to Hendricks. Wondy is more than a pretty face and big boobs. We just finished with the DEK nonsense... Please.
