As the title suggests what will Joker's role be in the next batman films (probably not counting with TDKR), wich actor should play him next?
Should the joker be the terrorist from TDK or should he go back to his comic book humble beginings? |

The TDK Joker is phenomenal. Heath Ledger played the role of his life...literally.
There's only one actor that I feel could handle this role as well as Ledger... ...and that's Daniel Day Lewis. |

He's not going to be. I think Nolan himself said so. Me? I'd recast him and go on.

Here's my vision of Joker I'm writing for a script.
Like Heath's, creates himself deliberately. Permanently dyes his hair green. Instead of being permanently white, he constantly bleaches his skin,so he wouldn't be bone white, but a deathly pale. No Glasgow Smile or Jack Nicholson grin. Has a smile tattooed across his mouth and cheeks, so that's permanent. The corners of his lips have been slightly cut away, so when he smiles, his gums and teeth are showing more. Wears blood red contacts to look more maniacal. Dresses more cleaner and sharpish than Heath's Joker. Values his life more than his views this time, so he can live as long as Batman to do whatever he can to piss him off. His laughing gas returns. Mixed with the poison of a water dropwort, causing the victim to laugh and die of the plants poison, while having a sardonic grin (caused from the plant) pulled across their faces. And I have Johnny Depp in mind when writing him

I was under the impression Heath will be in the film in the scenes that were cut from TDK...? I don't think recasting him is appropriate at this point. Nolan's Joker was set... done... no need to have him appear again unless it's footage of Ledger that works with the new movie.

Depp couldn't do a good joker. That's never going to happen, people know that

When Depp acts puffy as Jack Sparrow, I always see TAS Joker.

Or, to some, an overrated performance.

Depp is a master of many sides, but one of them doesnt fall near Joker. Unless someone proves me otherwise, I've seen a lot of movies with Depp. He's more of a Riddler to me

Nic Cage should be the Joker. After seeing Bad LT: Port of Call New Orleans I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead... that Nic Cage would be an amazing Joker.

Near what department? The crazy department? You kidding me? lol. The guy is crazier than a sack of ferrets. Seriously, watch Bad LT Port of Call New Orleans. At the start of the film he's somewhat sane. But as it progresses he starts going crazier and crazier.
He's a fantastic actor, one of the best in the last 20 years. He just picks some truly awful roles a lot of the time. |

They may have to use Joker in a reboot since the actor is gone from The Dark Knight.

Anyway, I think it would be great if, in a film following a previous encounter between Batman and Joker, they used a scene like the opening of The Killing Joke, with Batman trying to stop the madness. That would be a really different and interesting way to open a superhero film. Think about it: Have you ever seen a superhero trying to make peace with his archenemy in a film before?

I mean something like a mix of John DiMaggio and Mark Hamill. Something that can lose his insanity and become unpredictable at any given moment

I never saw Batman: Under the Red Hood, but I get what you're talking about. Can you show or tell me which qualities you would like from each?

Well, DiMaggio's Joker had much more of a merciless homicide and dark sense of humor. Combine that with a crazy wild fun Hamill Joker and I feel that would be an incredible outcome

Ledger's Joker was so iconic that if the Joker were used again(which I'm sure he will be),I think the producers would stay as far away from his version as possible...just to try and be different and set their Joker apart. I mean, there's no way you could top what Ledger did. I can see a more "comedic" Joker, but still with a sadistic edge. Maybe like Hamill's version in Batman Beyond:Return of the Joker. Wild, yet still very creepy.

Ironically, with Ledger's Joker they stayed as far away from Nicholson's version as possible.
