Eh, I don't think they'd wait too long for an X4.

I'll be picking up my tickets for Friday today or tommorow!

^^ Yeah, I see that as a possibility, sadly. Still, I just hope the rest of the case comes back.

I think they should just make it a duology and not a Trilogy. So for the next movie, they'll explain how Jean Grey, Cyclops and Storm came to the X-Men. How Magneto met Sabretooth and Toad. And after that they should just make a successful X-Men 4.
if it flops I dont see them making another movie

Anyone who has seen it, is there still alot of content left out of the trailers and tv spots? It seems like the whole movie has been shown to us...

First Class won't flop now that we all know it is a really good movie.

I have long maintained I think First Class has a shot at hitting 200 Million DOmesticly
beating the domestic gross of both X-Men and Wolverine but falling short of X2 and
The Last Stand

I am getting pretty psyched for this. Honestly I gave this movie little chance earlier, because of the downward trend after X3 and Wolverine. But seeing the positive reviews is making me hope this could be the jump start the franchise has needed since 2006.

X2 is still the gold standard for the series, so if this can come anywhere close to that, or perhaps even surpass it, I will be stoked.

This is the first movie without wolverine. So little kids might see that no wolvie and not be as excited for it. Which would be disappointing.

I think the action and use of cool powers will attract the kiddies. This film not having Wolverine as one of the main characters won't be a problem.

When I was kid, I only liked X-men for 3 reasons, Wolverine, Cyclops, and Gambit. And none of them are in this movie, so by my 6 year old self logic, this movie will suck.

I'm glad I don't follow kid self's logic.

I used to think Toad was Gambit, because the brazilian TV Spots only showed the scene where he does the Darth Maul trick and I clearly remembered Gambit having a bo staff in the 90's cartoon.

You say that as if the general audience doesn't associate Wolverine directly with X-Men

Wolverine is the face of the xmen movies so far. This will be the first without him. It could or hopefully won't affect box office numbers. It's worth speculating about.

Wolverine's own solo movie only made 170 domestic so I don't know why people think he is the only draw for these films. Is he hugely popular X-Men character? Yes. Does that mean that because he isn't in this movie that it will bomb? No. If this movie makes more than Wolverine then you know that a) these movies can work without Wolverine and b) people care more about quality than their favorite characters.

Wolverine is my favorite character, but I've never had an issue with them making a movie without him. I've never understood that mentality that no one would go if he wasn't in it.

I'm actually glad they made a movie that doesn't revolve all around Wolverine. He may be my favorite X-Men but it was time for a movie where other mutants got a chance to shine and X-men First Class does that.

Only a little over two days left for me. I can't wait.

I mean, I literally can't wait. I'm getting so anxious to see this movie after hearing about all the positive reviews, and I don't know if I can last much longer. I'm as giddy as a little kid waiting to open his presents on Christmas morning.

I feel the same way. Wolverine's my favorite character, but he's not the only character I love so I'm glad to see this.

It's not people are saying it will flop without Wolverine in it, but he is the favorite from the GA. And Wolverine made $170 million because it sucked. The opening weekend was great and there, and because of the popularity and interest from the character. The problem was that the movie sucked. Whether factually they'll be interested in this movie without him remains to be seen until the weekend. And WOM as well. If this movie does well enough, could we put the Wolverine favorite thing to rest? As people can see this as a great film on its own yet still love Wolverine. But the great news is that these films won't need him in it to be successful.
