Or how about this...
Clark tucks his collar down below his dress shirt...? I know it's unnecessary, and I too don't want that to merit an extra step on the shirt rip...

Clark could wear a neckbrace.. or a scarf... Or he could hold his magic sword aloft and shout "by the power of Greyskull!".. He could spin round and round like L&C Superman...
Or.... the writers/artists could just be REALLY lazy and ignore the collar problem and just go for the normal shirt rip with the collar appearing like magic after he's changed. Edit: Adding the collar adds all manner of complications to Superman and his transformation.

What if Superman's suit starts off as just sortof a simple shirt with the logo on it and then "grows" after he does the shirt rip?

Jeez, You have such brilliant ideas here, it's a shame you weren't around to let everybody know what Superman could be under your watch...

LoL. It is getting worse. You guys are going to freak out... Shirt rip no more...
"-KNEEPADS attached to new designed bulky boots -the Yellow "S" on the back of Superman's cape has been removed -the belt buckle still has a compartment in it, but instead of holding a Kryptonite Ring in it, this will now be where Superman stores his Clark Kent clothes....AND....vise versa...... -Superman's belt is now reversible, meaning he wears it as both Clark Kent and as Superman and stores the suit he's not wearing in it" Just saw it on Superman Homepage. A poster there said it. Might be false but still...

He was making a joke with the fact that his belt never had any compartment at all.

Dear DC,
If you hate Superman that much why not just sell the rights to Marvel.

Stolen from Superman homepage...
DC Comics co-publisher Dan DiDio posted the following open letter to DC Comics fans and readers via Facebook... Folks, as you wonder and wait for the new series announcements to unfold, I just wanted to let you know that we are spending an extraordinary amount of time and energy to reinvigorate our line of characters and bring the best books possible for the widest audience possible. Sorry if anyone is feeling disenfranchised, especially since that's not the intent. Quite the opposite, we are trying to create a place and story where older fans can point for new fans to start, whether in periodical, graphic novel or digital. A place where everyone can share in the excitement of the DC Universe. As the saying goes, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, and there are a lot of great things that don't need fixing. But we're also saying that we will not stand idly by and let series run on inertia and let the industry fade around us. All of us here at DC love the form and the characters way too much for that. Tomorrow we begin filling you in on all the excitement we have planned, plenty of real news to talk about and it's time for everyone to join in the fun. best, DD If it ain't broke, don't fix it... HMMmmmmmmm

My opinion is that I love the new Shield, it looks good in my eyes. I like the simplifications of the design.
I hate the collar, but like most pre-production artwork, there is a chance it'll just get dropped after a while. Heck, some artists may just never use it at all, you never know. I like what seems to be a longer cape, they used this look once or twice already and I always thought it looked good. The undersuit looks good so far, way to much shadowing to get a clear idea. I still didn't see the belt or the legs well enough to have an opinion on them. Once we see a full body shot, we'll see. From what we have now, I can see myself getting used to the new suit pretty fast. |

If superman can fly at the speed of light can he just dart back to his crib and change
Not saying that's what I want but it seems like the simplest explanation

Yeah, he tossed them under his tongue in one story because he was going to a karate class with Lois and obviously he couldnt put a GI on over his Superman costume. Most of the time, however, he would compress Clark's clothes and keep them (and the glasses) in a pouch inside of the cape.

LOL at Superman keeping his clothes under his tongue. That's even more ridiculous than the Flash's compressed clothes ring.
Now I want to see a scene in the movie where Superman has a violent cough and accidentally spits up him costume and it unfolds. It would look like he's vomiting clothing.

I think you're taking my comment a bit too seriously. And I'm sorry, but a comic where Superman takes a karate class and hides a tiny costume in his mouth isn't exactly going to find its way onto my "must read" list any time soon.

I'd actually like to read that story. It's sounds so over the top that it could be fun.
