My worry is that DC have made a change like this, so close to us getting a look at what the suit is going to be for Cavill. I have a feeling the issues are related.

If Zack and his team give us something similar to what DC has just done with the suit, then I am going to be very. very disappointed. You wouldn't like me when I'm disappointed...

I'm reserving judgement until I have seen the suit in it's entirety.

I would be cool with that as long as they don't make Batman too lighthearted. I like my Batman dark, not Frank Miller dark, but Denny O' Neil/Neal Adams dark.

Me, too. Though I also like Frank Miller dark as well as Dennis O'Neil/Neal Adams dark. Anyway, the lightheartedness kind of prevented me from getting into Batman: The Brave and The Bold as much as I would have liked to. I think it would be interesting to see a more dark and serious take on the concept myself.

I don't hate Miller, I love Year One and Dark Knight Returns, but taking TDKR Batman's personality and applying it to young Batman doesn't make since to me. Years and years on the job are what turned Bruce into the complete a-hole we see in that book.

On topic, I hope we see the costume soon, the wait is driving me crazy!

Thats kinda a weak counterpoint there. The guy said Batman looks weird without them so ...............

Movie wise they did a lot more then just take away the trunks.

I agree that the argument against them is weak. A CGI suit is pointless work as well. I'm a fan of the idea that Supermans suit is 100% earth made. So it doesn't need to look alien. Also these arguments about how the suit hides underneath his work clothes........

The actor is not going to wear both suits when he doesn't have to. If the suit had a collar. Guess what they will make a shirt that doesn't have the collar for the reveal. Take a step back and think about how they will film the thing.

The collar just makes him look stuffier and less approachable, which is the opposite of what we should want.

Superman is the smiling face looking to lend a hand and do what's right; he shouldn't look like the Prince of Wales.

I agree with you. The super-control freak Batman who can't trust anyone isn't as likable to me as the dark, tragic hero Batman to me.

I do hope we see the costume soon as well.

Well, I was also talking about the Batman, Inc. Batsuit.

As far as the film Batsuits, I loved the two Nolan film Batsuits.

I agree about a CGI suit being unnecessary. Hell, even the alien suit idea doesn't justify CGI as much as people think it does. Even an alien suit would probably be made of the same elements as are on the periodic table.

Very cool pic Binker.

Superman looks naked without the trunks, and with the belt on he seems oddly feminine. Plus the belt without the trunks really make the crotch stand out.

I hope the costume designer(s) for the movie will not be looking at the new suit for inspiration.

That is irrelevant since I am talking about Bruce Wayne's current Batsuit. While it has its problems (the shiny elipse background for the chest bat symbol. I don't for the ellipse batsymbol, but this takes the reasons for my distaste for it to a whole new level.), but the lack of trunks is not one of them.

This new look = the idea of Superman 2000.

I HATED & loathed the Superman Returns costume for other reasons but I'd take the Returns suite over this ANY day of the week +10000. Hate the re-design.

*IF* its gonna be trunkless, i'd like the upper and lower parts of the suit to be two slightly different shades of blue.
