I loved:

- The first scene of the movie being a shot-for-shot remake of the opening scene from [i]X-Men[i] right along with Michael Kamen's score
- McCoy mentioning that Mystique's genes allowed her to age slowly (which is why she appears young in the original trilogy)

Charles mentioning his step father made me wonder if Juggernaut would have a role in the sequel.

I believe he mentioned his stepfather had the mansion built.

Speaking of a sequel
I'm really in the mood for an apocalypse sequel.
With a whole set of team of x-men ready- it would be nice to have him come thru and slaughter havoc and banshee forcing prof x to summon a new team to defeat this nemisis

Cyke
Dr jean Grey
Beast
Storm

Let's get it guys (Bobby would be to young and under developed)

Less go team

Xavier mentioned his stepfather tootk nuclear war so seriously he build bomb shelter under the mansion.Which will become the mansion's sub basement level the X-Men use.

Shaw called mutants Children of the Atom which was an arcade game and a limited comic book series retelling the X-Men origin.

For those of you who didn't see Cyclops he was the kid with the ruby red sunglasses with the baseball mitt.

Shaw used lines similar to those from the opening of alot of X-Men Comics. Children Of The Atom, A World That Hates And Fears You.

Apocalypse as we know him would NEVER work on film. And as long as Singer keeps creative control over the franchise, Apocalypse will never be seen. Sinister, perhaps....but not Apocalypse.

Can't believe no one has mentioned this yet,

When Hank is about to take Raven's blood, you see a plate of Twinkies underneath.

In the comics Beast loves him some Twinkies.

A few cameos from some recognisable actors in supporting roles like Micheal Ironside, Ray Wise, James Remar, Brenden Fehr and Tony Curran.

I know. But mutant experimentation has been done to death. So no sinister. We can't have sentinels yet... Not before the government makes the mutant "menace" know to the American public...

So what u thank

I think IF there is a sequel, we will see Sinister. It is what the fanbase wants. Other options are second tier villians. Kind of like what Iron Man 2 did, rather than using the obvious choice of Mandarin they went with a Whiplash/Whirlwind mixture.

Some choices would be Mojo (but the only version on film that will work is the Ultimate version), Exodus, Mastermind, or maybe Leigon (though it would be hard to incorporate his backstory with young Xavier).

That being said, with these box office numbers, my guess is the only sequel we will be seeing is Wolverine 2.

I think Magneto will make mutants known to the public by the next film. And either way, now that the CIA knows mutants exist, they will most likely start thinking of ways to be able to stop them in case they attack them again like Shaw did in this film. So I think Sentinels make perfect sense.

I absolutely love:

Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
That Magneto at the end uses the classic costume, with that extra thing in the helmet, dunno what it is exactly. Now that was a moneyshot.

And the Kick-Ass reference at the beginning. Erik has a wall similar to Big Daddy's and throws the coin to the forehead of Sebastian Shaw's drawing, similar to Hit Girl when she throws the shuriken to Frank D'Amico's drawing.

I liked that that scene was literally foreshadowing Shaw's death.

Also that one guy Colonel Hendry who Sebastian Shaw negotiates about the missiles at the Hellfire Club and then later kills him in the yacht was in both Transformer movies as an army general.

Also find it funny that Oliver Platt is credited as "Man in black suit".
