Yeah, I didn't like the Elites in Reach either. The good thing about having Elites in 4 (at least in the MP modes) is that they'd at LEAST be on the same team as the Spartans again.

The Elites in the campaign were the ****ing worst in Reach. I stopped trying to beat the game on Legendary simply because the Elites were impossible to kill. It seemed a bit lazy to me that on Legendary mode the enemies weren't smarter, they were just next to impossible to kill. That sucked.

The beta seems pointless to me. I did really notice any difference between the Reach beta and the finished version. It's like a glorified demo IMO

it's a way to garner some goodwill and let the unwashed masses THINK they are helping
kind of like when you give a little kid a toy hammer and workbench |

Thats very true. I was horribly unimpressed by the Reach beta, but I kept telling myself it's just a beta and the final version will be different.

After yesterday's lose-fest, I can safely say that armor abilities ruined Halo.

I could not agree more. Between armor lock and jet packs the fun seems to have left Halo.

All armor abilities have done are cheapen gameplay and ruin maps. And I also love being betrayed by grenade-happy teammates
Call this a step backwards, but I don't care. If 343 Industries has any sense about them, they will take the franchise back to Halo 2-style gameplay. The changes Bungie made with Halo 3 and Halo: Reach have run this franchise into the ground.

I never played Halo 2 MP, but Halo 3 and Reach both play a heck of a lot smoother in campaign than Halo 2 did. As far as MP goes, I suck and I've never found Reach MP to be unfun.

I really can't believe people are saying that Halo 2 is the high watermark for the series. I still have a bad taste in my mouth from that game.

I'm referring strictly to the multiplayer. Halo 2's campaign was terrible.
I absolutely adored Halo 2's multiplayer, and I'm not ashamed to admit that. I still remember the days of having all-nighter LAN parties with my friends - playing games on Waterworks or Headlong.

I think most people glorify Halo 2 because of it's multiplayer. It has to be that, because on a level of it being a working single-player game with a campaign, it was awful.

the campaign on Halo 2 is a hodgepodge....some good, some bad...if they gave it another 2 or 3 hours it would have flowed together a bit nicer
