What's great is now the comics will align much closer with "The Man of Steel" movie, having a younger Superman not in a relationship with Lois.

I wonder if they'll do something out of the box and pair her up with Lex.

As long as they don't write and play her in the same vein as Margot Kidder's Lois (which I doubt they will) I'll be happy.

Or they'll have a traditional movie with Superman and Lois the same age and in, or almost in, a relationship. Because, you know, there's no indication otherwise.

We don't know what's going on exactly with how they'll portray the dynamics between Clark and Lois so I wouldn't make any assumptions yet.

And yes, i do agree with you ON ONE THING, that Lois hasn't been well portrayed in recent films.

However, given that the comics is the source material, from what I've read and seen, she is no DAMSEL in distress and has managed to hold her own throughout the years. She is portrayed as a heroine in her own right.

And considering the backlash that resulted from fans when comic book readers thought that they were going to go with a Lex and Lois pairing (only for it to be revealed that the "Lois" that was being used was nothing more than a test subject), I doubt that they might try that.

I get that you don't like Lois, or any female character in a respectful manner, but Lois is so much more than just a Love Interest and her character has BEEN there with Superman longer than ANYONE else in the Superman Lore aside from MOS himself.

I highly doubt you hire Amy Adams as Lois Lane to be a guest star in a Superman movie. Batman/Superman Public Enemies did a good job with Lois. She was wasn't there but was mentioned. There are some stories where Lois isn't needed; like Smallville and Superman 3. As for Margot Kidder's Lois; I would prefer they ditch her portrayal along with CRs portrayal of Clark.

How is that 'out of the box'? They did it in LnC...

Not that I'd object to it as an idea, I always thought in brought in an interesting dynamic of 'competition' between Lex and Superman.

the last thing that some would want to see is for Superman and Lex's epic rivalry and competition against each other to be about Lois or any romantic interest. It's one of things that SV has been criticized about, in the usage of Lana.

Imho, a great rivalry and antagonistic relationship like that should NEVER be about a love interest.

See I think what Smallville did and what LnC did where two different things.

Smallville literally made it seem as though them both being in love with Lana was the reason they started to fall apart, and the cause of their legendary rivalry.

With LnC it was clear that their rivalry was brought on by the challenge Superman represented in terms of who was more powerful. Lois was sort of a prize Lex was trying to manipulate as part of that game (like organising to have a guy attack her, and then jumping in the way and shooting him before Superman could get there).

I'm not suggesting it anyway, someone else was. But if it was handled well, I wouldn't object to Lex asking Lois on a date just to stick a knife in Superman, and her excepting because she things it's a good chance to interview him and he IS a powerful, charming and rich man so it's also flattering that he'd be interested in her, especially when her affections for Superman don't seem to be reciprocated.

The article doesn't say they're "not in a relationship" as you stated. It merely states they won't be married, which is obvious if they're doing an origin story. Snyder talked about their love interest in an interview. This is a class Lois/Clark storyline.

The end of the main "Flashpoint" series, which will be released on Aug. 31, is supposed to be the precursor for the big changes DC is making in September. But it's the tie-in story of single reporter Lois Lane that opens the door for the character to be single even longer.

We all know that Flashpoint is a showcase of things to come, even if they give an elseworlds spin to things and take them a bit too far. I think FP Lois has a lot of potential and its highly likely we'll see her, at least in comics.
