bom has not updated os gross so it should be:

domestic 179.5 M
os 265.5

total: 445 M

I think it will be shown a few more weeks in Japan, as of now it's at 4M, I dont think it will have any problems reaching 8 or 9 M for 450 M ww.

Yeah, but Thor already out-earned Wolverine by more than $71million world-wide, and still counting. That should more than cover for whatever inflation and 3D premium boost that the former had over the latter. And the 3D difference was only significant during the early weeks that the movie was showing. It's mostly 2D now. Potter7.2 and TF3 (and GL, Panda2, Cars2) already took away those from Thor. And check out their day to day average at Box Office Mojo, Thor is still out-earning Wolverine at this late stage of its showing, if you average each showing per theater.

Green Lantern made $179,000 today and Thor still managed to make $69,000. By the end of next week Thor might be outgrossing it on a daily basis. I wonder if Thor will get an extra little boost from Captain America this weekend?

I don't either. I think Thor is superior to X-Men First Class because the former respected the source material, unlike the latter. X-Men First Class is a good action film, IF IT'S NOT AN X-MEN FILM. They took too many liberties with it. The First Class is composed of Scott, Jean, Hank, Bobby and Warren....so, except for Hank, where are the rest of them? And Charles and Magneto were supposed to be friends for years, not in a week.

All right, here is the $180M question....will Captain America unseat Thor for being the highest grossing super hero flick for the Summer of 2011? Honest opinions?

Captain America BEAT Thor's opening day gross! Thor opened (friday) at $25,481,796, averaging $6,443 per screening. Captain America on the other hand opened at $25,750,000, averaging $6,931 per screen. Sigh. I know I won't watch Captain America this weekend, so there! Hahahaha!

That's good news as far as this Thor fan is concerned. The more hype and excitement there is for Avengers the better. Worst case scenario would have been a flop for one of the solo movies at the box office. Now we know that is not going to happen.

Also, this is Captain friggin' America. To the extent that the movie is any good (which it is), it should take the domestic title.

You know, in an interview during the Captain America premier, Chris Hemsworth was interviewed and he heavily hinted that there will be a Thor vs Captain America throw down. I wouldn't like it one bit if Cap beat Thor's box office gross and humiliate him in the Avengers. Seriously, why would they even fight? Cap and Thor, look, you have to subdue the HULK, not each other. There is the Avenger with whom you should focus your hostilities with.
