In the Batman movie's, Tim Burton's black rubber suit is still the norm. So with Superman, it's expected that some of Donner's material will live on.

My response to this suit is the same as my response to Supermans suit, Zods suit, Faoras suit... Pretty much everything we've seen so far.

It looks really cool.

I am genuinely surprised that there is such a negative response.

One of the most exciting things I think this suit suggests - there will be a Jor-el action scene.

You don't put that man in something resembling armour and not use it in a fight scene

No, no... This movie is a reboot.

Not a rehash, or a remake... It's an entirely new story using characters from the Superman mythos.

There may be some similarities, as there are bound to be... But let's not be ridiculous here.

I'm pretty sure they do actually.

That's like saying they didn't use the red trunks cause they'd never really seen a picture of Superman before.

Jor-el isn't wearing a headband cause Snyder didn't think it'd look right. Not cause he's unaware of what Jor-el has looked like in some comic interpretations.

'Supposed' to look like... ?

Are you seriously saying that you'd only be happy with this film if everyone and everything in it looked EXACTLY like old fashioned drawings from decades ago?

Anyway, I have no opinion atm on the suits, I will wait to see how they look on screen.

You guys have no idea of the context of that costume. It might not be his 'every day' clothing or 'laboratory' clothing - it might be his formal/ceremonial dress for when he presents his research to Krypton's council, for example.

I like it.

I always thought that, in addition to Jor El being a well-respected scientist, he was a member of the Kryptonian aristocracy. Is that not accurate? If so, then this suit fits that persona just fine.

So we've been seeing Jor-El puffing away on a cigarette, but when are we going to see one of him with Diane Lane as a happy couple?

I think this is very likely.

Crowe has been cast in the role for months. Thus there is zero reason of running around making posts about how someone else like Jon Hamm should have been cast instead. It reeks of trouble-making and stirring the pot. Especially doing two posts in under 24 hours saying the same thing.

Don't do it again.

He might have the headband, or he might just look better without it. We don't know. He is outside during a break. The headband, if it is going to be used, might be just green to project on it whatever they want (something that looks similar to the suits from "TRON: Legacy". The costume itself could have that kind of effect as well, who knows? It will definitely look cool on screen. I am sure we will be seeing a lot of manips of Crowe in the suit in the next few days too, that will give everyone ideas of what he may look like on screen.

Maybe her costume is more similar to the one that Antje Traue is wearing. Something that shows off her figure a bit more than Russell Crowe's costume.

Faora has more armor than Jor-El though, but they all have the tights underneath. So chances are Lara will have blue tights as well.

I haven't seen yet a picture of Faora where I can see much armor. It looks like (at least to me from what I've seen so far) that she has a cape, with some sort of armor around the wrists, and shins, and shoulders. She also seems to have some sort of belt, or something that accentuates the hips, some sort of padding, and that the rest of the costume is made up of either leather or vinyl.

lol, exactly. She has more armor than Jor-El. In the second pic she unzipped the top of the tights. You can see the sleeve of the tights hanging.

Chest armor:

I'm not getting those complaining about Crowe not shaving. There have been quite a few versions of Jor-El with the beard, and I rather like Crowe's look with it.

Dont see why anyone would have a problem with Jor-El's suit, I think it looks great and most importantly for most people, DIFFERENT to what we have seen before.

Rumor has it that Jor-El lived on Earth for a couple of years and had an affair with Martha Kent.

It's ok I suppose. Jor-El is a scientist, so he is wearing some sort of majestic scholar robes, while Faora is a soldier, so she is wearing an armor. I like it ;D

When Clark was born, was there a giant star in the horizon that Zod, Faora and Non followed or am I thinking of something else?
