Here is the image again of the new Superman costume (lower left.)
I'm reposting it because they just locked the original thread and no one will likely see it there.
This is the third time we have seen the new costume.
Notice the red lining around his neck and wrists.
And yes, it is armor.
Will this be the suit Cavill wears?

On the issue of Nolan, he never said he's going to sit back and see what ZS comes up with. He said it's ZS's film from a direction standpoint, but Nolan already put together and pitched the story idea, and approach with Goyer. It's still Nolan's vision, and his Superman.

ZS is just directing that.

It's similar to how Martin Campbell shouldn't be blamed for GL's failings, and probably won't be.

Unlike Singer and SR, GL wasn't Campbell's vision. It was the script and the approach of the guys that put it together that led to GL's disappointing outcome critically.

the red piping around the wrists doesn't bother me...around the neck does.

I remember the video. That was when he said he's going to be hands off from the project from now on and focus on Batman III.

But that was after he already put forward the script and vision for this film. Everything was already in place.

That's like saying the Watchmen movie was Alan Moore's not Snyder's.
