After watching Star Trek and then watching Thor you can tell Hemsworth packed on th muscle for this role. Is there any offical information on his workouts?

Just that he had always been working out, he just upped his food intake and workout routine, he really didn't go into extreme detail. I know it was in a couple video interviews, I'm not sure which ones right now.

This article on Stronglifts talks about Hemsworth's workout plan. I do the Stronglifts 5x5 plan and I would recommend it for anyone getting interested in strength training.

would you need chris' time and the, uh, financial resources for that type of work out? I watched his interview with letterman i think it was or was it some other show, he ate and ate and ate, mostly chicken breast i think. but his trainor must have been hell good to be cut like that lols.

Jak, reading it now, he must have spent a lot of time in the gym and his trainer is top class. everything looks rigorous. but damn, wish I could get fast results like that but I have neither the time, the PT, or the money involved to get in shape like that lols.

Chris wasn't exactly a wimp tho to get where he is/was for Thor tho.
If I kept up with building like I had back in Highschool in the 70's it wouldn't take much to bulk up like that. I was in Gymnastics and was on rings back then. I gained 10 pounds by simply riding my Mountain Bike. I was riding the bike to work the last two summers, with extra supplies and lunch and water for 12 hours in the bike basket and my back pack last summer, and I'm 50. It doesn't take much really if you think about it to bulk up.

Keep in mind it is a program for beginners, although it is useful for more experienced lifters wanting to get their numbers up.

You must have been eating far more calories than you were burning to gain weight from biking. Would you say that was what you were doing?

I said WEIGHT not FAT Jak. Muscle weighs more than fat.
I went from a 38 waist to a 34. I was checking my weight at my parents and at one point I weighed 185. To explain this a bit more is I'm a security guard here, Walmart is based here and there are TONS of office complexes here FILLED with Walmart venders. At one point when I first started this job I was WALKING 10 miles a day, physically checking 275 office doors! We had to get that done in 6 hours where 3 hours was spent staying in one place, so we had to make sure we got all the doors were checked and making sure they were locked in the other 3 hours. In THAT part of my job I lost about 15 pounds but just lost fat, I didn't gain any Muscle mass and weighed 165. THEN My car broke down and had no choice but to ride my mountain Bike. Now since I'm outside without indoor access to the place I'm guarding these days, I have to bring food, Water, and tools for the bike just in case. the weight of what I bring adds muscle mass because I'm not a avid Health nut lol ( I started out using my Dads bike, it had all the speed gears INSIDE the back axle and was stuck in 10th gear!) Basically I went back to the Scales at my parents and even tho I lost Fat I was then at 175 after the bike riding

yeah I do try to EAT before and after the exercise, because I need to stay alert at work.
lol I look on the Bright side...I'm healthier than my Ex and also a few of my Cousins who are younger. lol

I wasn't trying to imply that gaining weight was a bad thing or that you were doing something wrong. It's just a fact that if you gained weight, whether it be muscle or fat, then you were eating more. I mean just look at Chris Hemsworth's comments that most of his training was in the eating.

Staying motivated during the workouts is the hardest part for me. Every year when these superhero movies come out and I read what the actors did to get in shape, I get motivated to do the same. Then winter comes around and I get lazy again.
