He looks cool, now will he be a legitimately multi layered villain? Cause I hope so. We've had one decent villain and one ****** one so far.

Pretty sure that's the look they were going for, something part Middle Eastern and part Asian --- Central Asian is the general gist of it.

You're right. I just had a read through what Feige said about the character's ethnicity. Either way Benny boy's looking good.

I don't see the Mandarin using any rings with mystical powers. Fiege seems to have made it pretty clear that the 10 rings represents the criminal organization he heads.

I don't see any magical rings being used in this film. I feel it'll be more grounded in reality than magic.

I have to admit, the Mandarin's look in this movie wasn't what I was expecting, but after reading Kevin Feige's description, I can totally see what they were going for. Can't wait.

No actual rings with powers would be a bit

They don't need to be magic or even alien.

For some reason he reminds me of Flash Gordon's villain Ming.

Not enough like Ming IMO. I would've preferred him to have more of that look.

The rings could be human tech too, doesn't need to be mystical or alien. But I do want rings with powers.

Maybe he just wears armored hands with a jewel in each knuckle where the jewel lights up and a different power comes out of the hand.

It's an interesting take on the character but I'm not sure how well it will work.

Sounds like they basically wanted to make Mandarin a microcosm for Osama Bin Laden.

While watching the first teaser trailer again i noticed that mandy has a tattoo on the back of his neck. Was wondering if anyone could figure out what that is.

So I'm guessing he'll be an ethnically-vague character with an affinity for Chinese culture. Hence the nickname "Mandarin."

Even if he doesn't use the rings, I hope they at least give him something cool besides a gun, I don't want to see Iron Man's final boss just be a gunman.

Mandarin looks so... dirty and unkempt. Not at all how I expected him to look. I'll wait for a full look, though.
