Default Was the 3D worth it this time around?

I read beforehand from various sources how this flick was THE one to see in 3D, so I did go do it earlier. I confess Bay did a decent job shooting it, even the smaller quiet scenes with just dialogue tended to really stand out due to the depth, and of course the action shots with **** flying out at you got the requisite reactions from the audience. The wingsuit sequences were where it really shined, since they had a couple of the guys actually have helmet cams or something during those shots.

His films have always had aggressively beautiful cinematography. Just makes sense his 3D would stand out as well.

Never again will I watch a 3D film by a non visual director.

In the end I think I would have rather seen this in 2D. I just cant focus on some of the detail and could not keep up with some of the action. It looked fine, IM just not sold on 3D and if this was the best of the best, then Im done with it.I would have traded the 3D for a louder sound system for sure. I do enjoy 3D for gaming every now and then though.

The one shot I did like was the scene in the grasslands area where Sentinel and Optimus are talking and Optimus kneels to hand him the Matrix of Leadership and he's in the foreground. It was a very well done shot.

I thought the parts with a body falling through foreground space worked fine, like when star scream went after said rocket or that guy fell out of the building, or the dread leaping over dino....

also the wing suit, you can tell it was lower quality cause of the stereoscopic cam used but the depth of field was insane for the pov shot.

Well before this I didn't care that that all it did was make movies look like dark dioramas, this changed my mind ever so slightly.

And it was surprisingly bright.

too bad thats the only meaningful dialogue between the autobots. why does bumble bee never speak to optimus? it never develops their chemistry as friends or comrades. would have been cool if the autobots sometimes spoke in their own language when they didnt want the humans to listen in on their plans...very well designed but wasted characters for real. smh

I don't even like 3D. Hurts my eyes, and it's a little cheesy.

I saw it in 2D and it was incredible just like that.

It was good 3D but it does hurt my eyes too and it's too much to process. I will watch again in 2D to compare.

The 3d was great especially a few shots with Soundwave's wave gun and then when Bumble is hitting the debris out of the while grabbing Sam.

Most well-done 3d since Avatar. After a while you don't even notice its 3d, its just like watching it really happening in front of you.

Like the opposite of CoTT.

Best 3d in a film ever, the 3d in this film was that amazing, and the reason I think it stood out for me more than in avatar was because so much of it was live action. Just astounding, it puts all those other ****** post conversions this summer to shame.

i thought the beginning shots of cybertron were incredible. last movie i saw in 3D was Thor and i thought it detracted from the movie.

i thought it was part and parcel of this flick.

Pretty bland 3D. Doesn't add much at all.

As for people saying it's the best since Avatar: Did any of you see How to Train Your Dragon???

Best 3D since Avatar. If you're in the right theater - I'm in LA and went to Universal Studios, it was kick ass in that IMAX.

Animated 3D is easy to pull off, live action? Much more difficult.

You do realize Avatar was 95% animated, right?

Of course I know 'Avatar' was mostly CGI. Still was the best live action 3D in portions to date, alongside TF3.

The 3D sucked, the script sucked, the movie sucked.

The 3D was awesome. Especially the first part of the movie.

There were some scenes in 3D that were pretty impressive, like Bumblebee jumping and catching Sam in mid-air, also The driller taking down the building.

Honestly mine looked like crap. There were countless scenes that were blurred when looking at anything else but the characters right in front of you. It was also dark looking.
