Humor would be fine.

This was bad shock value. Horrid scene. I'm disappointed it was even shot.

Lighten up. Vaughn shot an over-the-top, silly scene. Big deal. It didn’t make it into the film. I swear, some of you guys have no fun in you…

He sure does. I'd heard about that scene already and had pictured it in my head but he was even more hideous than I'd imagined.

What's the big deal? Yeah he shot it, fine. But he didn't use it.

The guy made a quality movie and you're gonna start questioning his abilities over a DELETED SCENE?

If he shot it, then that means he likely had intention to use it.

If he had intention to use it, to me that shows bad judgment on his part for the movie. It wouldn't be the first time Vaughn has shown bad judgment in regards to an X-Men movie.

I don't know just how much control he had over this movie... but I fear for an X-Men movie in which Vaughn is given absolute free reign.

So, he showed good judgment in cutting it then, correct?

Wtf? People are criticizing a deleted scene that showed a bit of humour? Get over it, it was shot and was cut.. some people are so dry and are buzz kills.. hate to know what you do for fun.. why do people always find some way to complain?

Whenever you're filming a movie you shoot certain things and do extra takes and variations of scenes to experiment. That way you have more things to play with during post-production.

During that process you realize that some things that seemed cool or 'interesting' during filming may not translate for the actual film...but you wont know that unless you actually film it and see it in motion.

He shot it, saw that it didn't work, and cut it.

I don't see why you had to take it to such a point as to question Vaughn's capabilities as a director. Especially when in the end, he turned in one hell of a movie.

I think some people just don't want to except that someone other then Bryan Singer can turn out a good X-Men movie so they try to find faults wherever they can to prove their right.

More like a lot of fanboys are utterly humorless. Look at how any attempt at humor in a superhero movie gets torn apart on these boards.

They take these characters seriously and expect these filmmakers to treat them as such...anything less will not be tolerated!!!

Doesn't mean it should appear in the movie.

I don't mind humor in CBMs so long as they don't seem shoehorned into the narrative for the sake of a laugh and/or cheap reaction from the viewer.

Magneto in drag mode, it just had to be a part of the movie on some level.

It's not shoehorned... it's part of Xavier's powers and his cheekiness

It's defininitely not shoehorned in. It's Xavier having fun with his friend. I feel bad for Fassbender that he had to dress up like that and it didn't even get into the movie.

That deleted scene is better than Green Lantern in its entirety.

Now I'm getting really scared about what those extended Xavier-Moira scenes are about.
I'm VERY GLAD that was CUT.

The deleted scene was funny.

I'm surprised people are like whining about it, like where is your sense of humour? and hello it was cut!

Magneto wasn't actually IN drag, this scene was about Xavier using his powers. I bet if Xavier projected Moira, Angel, Emma or Raven to be naked none of the guys would be complaining.. jeez get over it people..

Outside of the fact that it'd be a better visual for me, I would think it would be just as out of place in the movie as Dragneto.

You are absolutely correct. Sometimes something looks better on paper than in a film, and experimenting with it is the only way to know if it works (especially humor).

Personally, I think it's a fun, but overly silly scene. Just a little too much, and I'm glad it didn't make the film. But I like that it's a deleted scene.
