F**K YEAH, RODDICK AND ISNER!
Now I just need Federer to win tonight and this day will officially be awesome. I hope he smokes Tsonga the way he did Monaco.

Conditions should be slow tonight, so that'll be good for Fed.
Isner, I can't stand watching him play. He's got a great serve and he plays for the tiebreak. So he's only playing half the time. Simon let me down, I though he'd return better. Murray is going to get those serves back and mess up Isner. Murray vs Simon would have ruled. Oh well. Roddick/Nadal is going to be a very interesting match. |

Tipsarevic is just ripping the ball off both wings. Djokovic looks sedated. I don't know why Djoker is hitting all these slices. The court isn't taking his ball, it's just sitting up for Tipsarevic to hammer, and he's hitting these slices in the normal course of a rally. His slice should be reserved as a last resort when he's out of a point or when he can't get both hands on the racquet. When he was on his streak his crosscourt drive backhand was the best shot in tennis. Now he's passive with it.

With Janko serving for the set Djokovic is starting to feed off his pace and letting it rip. He breaks back. Tiebreak time!

I hope Roddick beats Nadal. I know the odds aren't in his favor, but I still think he can do it.

Federer is returning to Tsonga's backhand, which has been a brilliant strategy. It's making Tsonga have a hard time on serve.
Fed also appears to be having a good time, and serving very well. Needs to clean up his game a little |

McEnroe points that Federer is using a short slice in the center of the court to great effect. That was his winning strategy against Murray in his last Slam win.

Federer is playing very aggressive. If he has a look at a ball he's looking to finish the point.
Tsonga is serving like crap right now. Been broken three times already. |

Shades of toronto 2009 perhaps? Could Federer lose a 2 break lead in the second set? The Tsongacoaster appears to be on the rise at the moment.

Federer is just playing sublime tennis. The winner/error ratio doesn't do him justice.
Djokovic can't like what he sees. Remember, in Paris Federer didn't play his usual junk ball strategy against Novak, he blasted him off the court behind a huge service effort. Same thing tonight. |

So far we've seen interviews with Will Ferrell who wasn't funny. He tried his usual stuff but it didn't quite work. Then Pam interviewed Clive Davis. He informs that his favorite person to produce was a "young Billy Joel." Good answer.

Federer has been stellar lately. Couple of shaky moments tonight but he recovered quickly and kicked Tsonga's ass. Can't wait to see him take on The Djoker.
Also, agree about Ferrell, but really, even if he was funny that interview would have still been annoying. I hate how, whenever the announcers spot some random celebrity in the crowd, they feel a need to ignore the match for 10 minutes just so they can interview him or her. I remember this one match years ago where they talked to Denis Leary about baseball for like 20 minutes. That was really annoying.

My mouth is dripping with at the anticipation of that match. They always play close in the Slams and if they can duplicate what they did in Paris or at the USO last year I'll be very happy.
I wouldn't mind Leary if they let him go off on Bucky Dent or whatever. They must have caught Will Ferrell cold because his material was god awful. What made it worse was the McEnBros doing their best to act like it was a riot. And let's face it, Clive Davis appears to be at least 85% dead. Last edited by Sakuraba; 09-08-2011 at 11:32 PM. |

I wish John McEnroe, Manly Carillo and Pam Shriver would go the hell away. I can't stand any of them. John McEnroe does nothing but gush over Nadal (especially when it's NOT a Nadal match, and if Nadal isn't in a tournament, all he does is talk about how different it would be if he WAS there). Carillo and Shriver I can't stand because I just find the two of them to be a couple of jackasses. Carillo damn near ruined the last Olympics for me because they kept cutting away from the actual events to show her dumb ass doing tourist crap in Canada (WTF?). And Shriver... did you see her idiocy after that one Sharapova match where she was laying on the ground, pleading Maria not to hit a ball at her? What a tool.

Federer vs Djokovic should be another heck of a match, so i think we should get ready for great tennis

I for one love John McEnroe. He's the only one that just says what he wants and his nuts and bolts analysis is usually spot on. He is invaluable for his own personal experiences in the big points.
He does have his favorites, but he's fair. That said, he was a HUGE Agassi fan during his resurgence. That didn't stop him from gushing over Federer during their USO final. Mary Carillo, Pam Shriver, Chris Evert, they can all go. How is it that Hannah Storm is most studied of them all? Hannah Storm has actually done her homework and can throw out some facts. |

Roddick got smoked off the court. Seriously though think i'm going to start calling him Andy Rodtick, he has the same ridiculous ticks everytime he plays. Guy has no composure on the tennis court.
In other news, one, two, three and four are all in the semifinals once more, can't wait to watch those matches.

Is the US Open at the Super Saturday stage already? I thought it was just the first week.
