I dare not speculate because I look at the Green Lantern tomatometer thread and how foolish some of those people looked speculating success on a movie they haven't seen.

However, I think it will get a friendlier reception due to the subject matter. This is the only superhero film that comes to mind that is also a period piece, and critics tend to be suckers for period pieces in general. A character-driven WWII period film (with superheroes!) I think will be able to avoid any genre fatigue superhero films sometimes fall victim to. Especially if Joe Johnston sticks to his formula and harkens back to classic film techniques. Critics tend to forgive a lot of flaws if you appeal to their nostalgia.

I guess I did speculate after all. Oh well.

I think the whole Indiana Jones structure and tone will appeal to critics and it will result in a great formula for Cap.

At least 80%. I hope I'm not as off with this prediction as I was for GL.

I predicted mid 80s for Green Lantern...but a lot of people did too...

There hasn't been doubts like Green Lantern has since November 2010 so it's likely alright lol.

But there were way more doubts about that movie than Captain America.

At least 75%. I don't see this film getting bad reviews unless they try to do politics references.

Low 40s-50s, percentage wise. Joe Johnston's track record is normally a mixed bag hence my prediction.

I hate to say it, but the positive buzz might just backfire in our faces in the end. We know what happened when people saw you know what.
