(And rewatching it makes me understand once again why Marvel wouldn't want to try to top that. Put it this way -- as awesome as Loki is, he would be unable to resist manipulating someone else to do a lot of his dirty work for him, and to be the one to publicly take the brunt of the heroes' attempts to stop the plan.
