Lol, I NEVER thought I'd see it happen, but wow, Brock got a big push and applause over his part in Spider-Island. I thought Reed was going to be all "hrumph...Brock did stuff" He was on the TV screen, big wide grin, hand on shoulder and declaring that Brock saved the day. Multiple references were made about Brock saving the day, even Aunt May got to chime in joyously. I think that because of his hero status, he'll be asked to Project Rebirth 2.0 for a consultant position.

A rather good status altering issue.

Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
I'm a bit sad to see Spidey MJ go, but I was really happy that Pete's over the "girl trouboole1?! I mhust remoov mah powahs!" phase. He's been moving forward here and there and it's nice to see him at that level. Wow, they're really teasing the return of Pete and MJ. Carlie's gone without Pete even getting a word in. Many people called it; the relationship would die due to his selfishness in keeping the secret. He seems okay though. I wonder what the future for Jameson's spidey hate is? That little touch at the end was really nice.

Awesome conclusion!

I've been reading the Spider titles on-and-off since BND, but this one really hit it out of the park for me. Between the

Ben and Kaine moment, the Peter and Mary Jane moment at the end, the comedic aftermath of all of New York waking up from being giant spiders, and the progression of Eddie Brock
.

Really eager to see, where things play out from here for both Peter and Kaine.

Another great issue. Spider-Island did end up becoming quite a memorable event, it's going to go down as a classic as years pass.

Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
I am going to miss Carlie but for all you CC haters, don't rejoice yet because I don't think she's going far.

The scene with the "blind spot" angle essentially getting killed couldn't have been done more perfectly. Short, sweet and to the point. It was a dumb idea and needed to be nixed. It's funny that in return we get clones back, you can't win them all I guess.

Perhaps Slott is going to build this back up to Pete and MJ getting back together, I'd like that at the end of the day. I'm just not sure if they get married again. We'll see. It's not going to happen straight away because we have that DD crossover coming up where Pete tries to get Felicia back in the sack. Hell, what guy doesn't try to bed an ex after getting dumped, I'm surprised he didn't slip MJ an Ambient.

How exactly is Caine going to get on a plane? Dude's a clone. Doubt he has proper ID.

It's easy to get a fake ID in NYC, he probably requested the name Peter Parker on it in case somebody actually checks into it. Pete has flown all over the country in the past as a photographer. You also don't need a passport if you're staying in country. He could also stow away in the cargo hold. It would be easy to sneak on there with Spidey powers.

Yes, airports are pretty easy to slip through these days. Especially in NY.

Well NYers in Marvel are stupid (they supported Norman Osborn) so their flight staff and airport security could be equally dumb. Like it was said in this latest issue of ASM, its all very arbitrary. I'll be using that line a lot when it comes to "comic logics".

Every third person was a mutant that could make fire, so that probably helped.

But the other two proceeded to persecute and ostracize the mutant that could make fire.

Rereading that scene, Kaine was only there to see May off, not to get on a plane. He'll probably be hitch-hiking and trekking it on his own.

Also, bonus points for me! I just noticed Kaine is wearing a blue sweater hoodie.

Are you sure you aren't confusing that with the Satanic bargain of character assassination?

Well, I don't know about you folks but, with regards to Peter and Carlie FINALLY breaking up (and admittedly, Peter got exactly what he deserved due to continuously lying to her when had ZERO reason to) I feel like a song coming on:

Carlie is not going away. I imagine she'll end up forgiving Peter and end up being Peter's informant in the police department, particularly after MJ talks to her.

This is the part where Marvel goes "we didn't do this (Carlie breakup) because the fans didn't like her...we did it cause we wanted to. It was our decision. We had this planned all along."

Wow! Awesome Epilogue to an Awesome Arc! OK, off the top of my head, I can't think of my 10 favorite Spider-Man stories, but this Spider Island might very well reside there now!

Loved the opening comical aftermath scene. Funny how it makes fun of the arbitrary stuff in comics, like the glasses, head band, and Banner's purple pants! And am I hypocrite because I liked Carlie in that opening scene?

Also very happy that...

Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
Jackal is still alive! Love he clones himself to serve as henchmen. Can't wait what he has in store next!

Liked seeing Kaine in the hoodie, but him leaving NY? If he starts leaving that connection to Pete & NY, I may loose interest in Scarlet Spider. Would be more interested if he sticks around Pete's corner of the Marvel U.

And Carlie & Pete finally split?

:w oot:

And the MJ stuff shows promise! Get Pete & MJ together and this era can easily join my other favorite eras the post Gwen 70's, the Hobgoblin era 80's, and the MacFarlane/Larsen era!

The ending was sweet and only later on did I make the connection to JJJ saying "I'll make a call."

Bravo, Mr. Slott! Bravo!
