Batman didn't kill Dent. Batman HAD to take him down in order to save Gordon's kid. It was a necessity and a risk he took, he didn't deliberately kill him if that is what you meant. There was no reason to let Gordon's son or any other innocent victim die again. Batman did what he had to do. Dent was not Dent anymore at that point. And for all we know, he might as well be alive.

We've been over that one and that stupid thing made me cringe. I want him to THROW a simple Batarang directly AT somebody.

The electronic Batarang (really, that thing looks like a hand-held video game) has been discussed and I've clarified specifically what I'm referring to. Twice. Besides, can it truly even be considered a Batarang if he doesn't throw it?

To me, the Batarangs In Begins were more like Bat-shurikens than anything else. That's too lethal a weapon for Batman. A proper Batarang, as originally intended by Kane and Finger - a boomerang with the usual Bat themed design that was both meant as a non-lethal weapon, that also doubled as the means to secure the Bat-rope to high ledges and the like. With the advent of the grapling gun, the latter function is out dated, but I also would like to see a proper Batarang utilized as a non-lethal wepon used to knock out the bad guys as it was once used. If the next film version of Batman takes a more traditonal approach (which I would love to see) that might happen.

Yeah we do need some Batarang action, and Nolan should be the one to do it in this movie!

I get the impression that the Batarang seen in the Nolan films is meant to be more of a tool than a weapon, such as when Batman used them to douse the docks in darkness in Batman Begins. Personally, I think that sort of thing is the best way for them to be used. If they were used as a weapon, it may all depend on how it's done, but I think that it may be a bit too lethal for a Batman that appears to be more about hand-to-hand combat.
That having been said, I wouldn't be against seeing one used in a future Batman film. |

The BB batarangs are all part of the ninja battle style LOS stuff. They're more for distraction and diversion than anything.

I don't miss the batarang but I do miss how Batman constantly used the powered grapple gun in BTAS. That s--t was classic.

You mean as opposed to once or twice? Well he doesn't swing in the movies and he couldn't glide in the series.

I only remember him using the powered grapple hook once or twice in Batman Begins then never again. Correct?

He used it in TDK; right after he wasted 15 minutes fighting w/SWAT (instead of saying, "Look at the clowns! They're the hostages! Just LOOK. damn it!") he used it to get to the top of the Pruitt Building.

Oh okay.
I just loved those moments in BTAS when Batman would use the powered grapple hook to exit dangerous or even casual encounters. Bad ass.

I prefer Batman gliding to him constantly using the grapple gun because gliding strengthens the bat imagery.

And to pull the fake Batman out of dog-biting range and to rescue the Joker from his fall.

I concur, there does need to be more batarang usage. I like the blade gauntlet things he got in TDK, but he only got to use them once on the Joker.

I'm pretty sure he uses it more than that. He used it quite a bit at the docks and at Arkham.

The problem with the Nolan batarangs is that they easily have the potential to be a lethal weapon. Being so gosh darned sharp and all.

With each movie, we've seen Batman use a variety of gagdets and devices, some old and some new in new ways...So, even though it might be nice to see him use the batarangs, I'm sure we will see something just as cool...
