I feel like a broken record saying this, so....i'm fine if they do away with the trunks as long as the suit looks good. I still prefer them, but i'm open to change.

I'm the same way. I'm happy as long as it looks good on screen.

Take what to the character thread?

I'm talking about Superman's costume.

As for the trunks, I absolutely want them but if they are not there and there's a substitute that still balances the suit I'll be fine.

I see the former rather than the latter. It doesn't look bulky at all to my eyes, and it avoids the spandex panty hose look that a lot of the 'lose the trunks' crowd rail against. It seems to straddle an acceptable middle ground (at least for me) between Schumacher Batman cod piece armour, and Chris Reeve tight fitting spandex. Like I said the beltline looks a little off imo, but beyond that little issue, it's very good.

Not you...others seemed to have gotten off topic.

I find the talk about the new Spider-Man costume boring because the Spider-Man costume already appeared on screen to great effect(and maybe because I'm meh on the whole project). Spider-Man's new costume looks fine but it's still a reboot costume and nothing new really and it doesn't look better to me.

The new Superman costume can keep the general look of Superman but it does need some updating. Like I said, that was one of the few things Singer had the right mind about. I know some just want to dust off the old Reeve suit but that would be dumb because the materials are dated. It does need some updated design and materials. Period.

That is not armor, it's a muscle-suit. This is armor.

So who are the 'some' that want to dust off the old Reeve suit? I don't think too many on these threads who want a Classic costume are looking for that. You are correct however that the materials are dated, and I'd be disappointed if that's what we get, but the new Spider-Man costume shows that there are some interesting new materials available. I actually liked the blue part of the Returns costume. That was one part that they did get right.

The new Spider-Man costume looks really good in official photographs, but I don't think it is better than Raimi's version, and isn't necessarily worse. It's just different, and that's likely all the film makers were looking for.

I won't respond here to the personal insults and attacks by the decons, but I will repeat that as for the costume, I am not opposed to a design without trunks as long as it looks good, but I haven't seen one yet that does look good.

Sorry, the crappy CGI didn't allow for better shots.

This is one of the better shots from the show of the CGI rendition. Colors are nice and rich.

How about you respond to the information and opinions that I and others have posted without sounding smug and acting your opinions is the gospel. Maybe then they'll be nicer.

I have almost no interest in the Smallville show but I didn't know he finally had the suit on. Will have to take a peak.

edit: The smallville costume was nothing but the SR costume with slightly different colors lol

It's a waste of everyone's time and it's off topic, but there's no use and you guys will continue to quote 90's DC and Wizard Magazine talking points instead of actually studying the history of comics and the comics themselves, which you have already decided are garbage since you've been taught that.

I'm not taking this thread off topic again, and I apologize for doing so.

Snyder bet look at this cgi if he insists on using a cgi superman for some scenes.

If this is a clip from smallville I'm pretty sure they used the CGI model from superman returns and they used the same costume. If anything they didnt put any filters on it so its a little ridiculous to say smallville got the costume right when its the exact same suit as SR.

It's just a blurry blob of Superman's colors to be honest. It's not like that's an Avatar level CGI character.
