My confidence is really shaken in WB after green lantern. I thought they got it, but they just didn't.

I'm lowering my expectations for this one, and if it turns out great, I'll be that much more impressed.

Thankfully it's not the guy who co-wrote Sucker Punch.

Johnstad and Nolan doing rewrites? Nice.

Not the biggest fan of 300, but happy that Jonah got involved. Hopefully they both ironed out Goyer's script kinks and got a nice, tightly-plotted film.

I'm so glad that Goyer's script is getting a rewrite. While I don't know the extent of his process or what he actually contributed to the Batman films, I will say that every project I've seen of his that he either did solo, or had a massive hand in, I've disliked, if not hated.

Hopefully Warner makes this the best Superman movie ever. I cannot fathom how pissed I will be if this film fails like Green Lantern (which I didn't think was as bad as the critics made it out to be, but was still a bad film).

I thought it was said Jonah and Goyer wrote the 1st draft together?

I don't think Jonah's involvement was ever confirmed until now. But, I could be wrong.

When Nolan was announced the articles were saying his brother was writing this. I figured Goyer came on later to the project.

I think those were just fan theories or the press assuming Christopher would involve his brother. I don't think it was ever officially announced.

I was just saying in other thread how dumb some of the sites are trying to look in the know. That's a good example.

Ugh...

And the only reason I say this is because it's one more name to try to figure out who sucked if the script blows...

Yeah. I can still remember when Josh W. misread a months old article where Zimmer was quoted hypothesizing the challenges a composer would face on Superman, and suddenly that was misconstrued as him saying he was DOING Superman. And it spread like wildfire basically every news site, even mainstream, non-nerd sites covered it. It was a mess. Probably one of the worst displays of journalism I've seen in recent times.

Either way, Goyer has been a very integral part of the Bat franchise... so I'm surprised people are turning against him for any other reason than Blade Trinity... Which happened years ago....

What is the problem with his involvement in Man of Steel? I'm hoping after his intro to Superman: Secret Origin he would have something awesome planned...

He was an integral part of Begins but had very little involvement in TDK and TDKR.

I believe that Goyer is a good story setter, then he hands it off to other writers to flesh out the characters and Story. say what you want about this guy. but he got BAtman Going and now a new superman. Nolan must think he's good otherwise why would he use him at all.

He uses him for his comic book knowledge. Just like how Geoff Johns should've been used. Instead of giving him a bit too much creative input and we got Green Lantern.

I could have enjoyed Batman begins a lot if Goyer hadn't put the cheese out there, and those pretentious "with great power"-wannabe morals (why do we fall, it's what I doooooo, etc). Some scene have terrible dialogue, like the one with little Bruce and his father on the monorail. Let alone the one-liners. That destroyed Batman begins's so-called seriousness for me.

In TDK he was barely involved, and it showed.

I did like 'why do we fall' and the callback from Alfred was great.

But I think the dialog was a bit clunky while TDK's dialog was not more memorable but flowed better too.

That said, Goyer is good with structure and comic book info. I'm happy that Nolan and even Kurt has been polishing it.

I think Goyer's work is good.

Call me crazy but I like those cheesy one liners, they're fun and make me smile. Not saying I'd want them all over a film but they're good here and there.

The Dark Knight's dialogue was very good. It's not only memorable in terms of flowing well but there's some stuff in there that resonates quite a lot.

There is more meaning in Nolan's dialogues, more philosophical.

I agree wholeheartedly, but I think that side of things goes even better with the humorous dialogue that Goyer brings to the table. Call me crazy but I felt Batman Begins was more a comic book film than The Dark Knight.

I preferred the Dark Knight as a movie, but Batman Begins was a better comic book movie.

Hence why more comic book fans prefer Batman Begins while general audience/film geeks prefer Dark knight.

The Dark Knight was more comic booky than Batman Begins.

And Goyer didn't bring any humor to the table. Jonah's one liners are better. And the Joker's antics are far more amusing than anything in begins.

I dont agree with that at all. Batman Begins is way more comic booky than the Dark Knight.

I maintain that Batman Begins is the better Batman movie but the Dark Knight is a better movie.

I love both those films but I think Batman Begins is more fun to watch, the Dark Knight amps up the seriousness.
