Looks that way. They just photoshopped it over for that still.

Pretty much. The sleeve is still red (completely red, no webbing or blue portion).

I love the song and the video. I've heard this was on the European release of the Spidey 2 soundtrack, but I wonder why it wasn't released for the American version?

I always wish Spider-Man, being my favorite superhero, would have better bands/artists attach to the films.

Here's hoping for a more metal version to TAS-M. I would love to hear some BTBAM.

I enjoyed the music for the films, but the metal theme sounds awesome. What's BTBAM?

Same here. A LOT, tbh. Best Comic book trilogy ever, IMO. Btw, I saw this a while back, but it's awesome. it uses the opening theme from the crappy MTV series.

People seem to forget that before The Dark Knight was released, Spider-Man 2 was the ruler by which every other comic book movie was measured. Even though it has been topped, it's still a solid comic book movie.
Comparing the two films, I find that while The Dark Knight is the more cerebral and thought-provoking of the two, focusing on ideas and themes, Spider-Man 2 is the more emotional and heartfelt one, focusing on emotional conflicts, like Peter's struggle with being Spider-Man, and overall sacrificing one's desires for the good of others. I still think The Dark Knight is superior to Spider-Man 2, but that in no way means that Spider-Man 2 is a bad movie by any stretch of the imagination. While Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy will more than likely be favorite comic book movie trilogy when The Dark Knight Rises is released, Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy is still among the best.

This article from PopMatters is a retrospective on Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy. I thought it was rather interesting and worth a read.

Between the Buried and Me. Possibly the best metal band of this generation...their Colors CD is just freaking mind-blowing.

And I always thought a full-on metal soundtrack would be a breath of fresh air on a CBM.

As much as I love The Dark Knight and I will always call it the best CBM movie out there, Spider-Man 2 did do something remarkable in its emotional core. Sure, I talk a lot about the characters and even the dialogue, but I would say for Raimi, he aimed to make his Spider-Man films more of a romantic epic than an actual CBM, and it showed in S-M 2. Doc Ock in the film can even be categorized as a part of a romantic story of lost and tragedy and trying to win something back even though he already lost everything and it made him truly mad. That core is in itself what made S-M 2 an excellent movie.

But The Dark Knight...just, that movie is completely remarkable in everything Nolan wanted to achieve and did. To me, there hasn't been a good CBM trilogy at all, but Nolan will accomplish this with The Dark Knight Rises and break the third-movie curse that only a few directors have been able to achieve with movies such as Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Star Wars Episode III: Return of the Jedi, Back to the Future III and Lord of the Rings: Return of the King.

I still wonder though, IF Raimi would've been in that same group of directors if he made the third installment he wanted to make, although I still have questions because I don't think the Sandman/Vulture combo would've been enough, but as I said, Raimi didn't seem to have kept his main focus on the villains and only the story. The villains seemed like fodder until the very end while conceiving the story.

Raimi's movies, now, are especially getting a lot of hate. Everyone calling them awful, cheesy, even comparing him to Schumacher. Sure the third one wasn't the best but I still love the first two. I thought Raimi had a great tone. It was lighthearted and focused on romance but I thought it fit very well.

Because fanbois love new things. Think about it. Before Nolan's Batfilms how often did you hear anyone put down Burton's Batfilms. Sure people rip the Shumacher films but no one ever had anything bad to say about them....until Nolan.
Think about what was the gold standard for superhero films before TDK....Spider-man 2. Magazines, websites, polls all had it as the best superhero movie ever.
The new movie is announced and you'd thought Raimi crapped on celuloid all three times...that everyone hated them all.
Dont believe me...go into the AMS threads and see how much Raimi blasting is going on "i like the new movie cause I hate Raimi"

I still don't hear/read anything bad about Burton's films. Especially '89 Batman, because it's a classic.

That's a shame really. I love that movie and everything about it. Batman Returns was okay as well, but Batman was just a great one-and-done film, imo. And Burton should've kept his mindset that he would only do one film.

And this is extremely sad, if you ask me. It's actually very very depressing. I still think S-M2 is the greatest CBM of all time and I remember the glory days of Riami's franchise as well. I couldn't go anywhere without seeing his Spider-Man. Literally EVERYWHERE, and people LOVED it! Every time i saw a young child with a Spidey shirt, it often involved the films. Anybody who says they're crap and used to like them is in pure denial. You think I don't know? I was here in 2006 and I was part of the MASSIVE MASSIVE hype for S-M3. That's one of the reasons I defend his tirlogy so damn much because i know quality when I see it, and depsite what people say, they overall ARE true to the comics. Hell, half of the people I argued with about the films couldn't reference anything in depth from the comics. Why? Because they HAVEN'T read them.

Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy was a sensation and are among some of the highest grossing films ever made. Fans who say "because it was the first", well that's bulls***. In my eyes, Sam Raimi's SPider-Man trilogy had heart, emotion, action, drama, and overall a fantastic meaning behind it. It pulled from the great stories by Stan Lee/Steve Ditko/Romtia sr. and combine them into one fantastic franchise. Great actors (IMO), great directors and a great crew (except Avi Arad). People seem to forget how faithful the films were.

Spider-Man and Green Goblin battling which leads to Goblin being killed by his own glider (ASM issue 122)
Peter fighting in a wrestling event in wereslting clothes
Norman not proud of Harry
Harry seeking vengeance for his father's death
Harry having an ADDICTION problem. In the comics, he took Valium, if i remember correctly, but to fit the films, he had an alchohol addiction.
Doc Ock's menacing side
The struggles of 2 lives with Peter
Peter not being their for his aunt
Peter being late for MJ's play (in the comics, he was tied up often and couldn't even go with Gwen)
Peter riding a scooter
Peter giving up being Spider-Man
Peter seeing a kid get mugged
Peter saving the ltitle girl from the fire (in the comics, he saved and old security gaurd while still trying to not be Spider-Man)
Peter getting rid of the symbiot at a church
The symbiote attaching to Brock
Brock going to church (somewhat)
Robbie Robertson being supportive of Spider-Man
MJ saying she feels as though she always thouht Peter was Spdiey (She said she always knew in the comics)

and much much more.

Don't get me wrong, i'm extremely excited for this new film. Why? Because I'm a massive Spider-Man fan and I'm hoping it's great, but Raimi's trilogy will live on forever no matter what. TO this day, it remains the greatest superhero trilogy ever, IMO.

Being faithful is fine, but it shouldn't automatically make your film great if everything else was awful, ala Spider-Man 3.
