I actually was thinking it was going to be the opposite. Hobbit moving to Summer. Interesting.

This also means we won't likely see the suit this weekend, as many of us had hoped.

**** the WB!
Dial that back. By a lot.

it's better waiting to see a fully finished product rather than a rushed film that scrambles to the last week **Green Lantern**

Plus, as previously mentioned the worries of how The Hobbit hangover would loom over this film are over.

I think this is the biggest reason I am upset, because before I felt like we were on the brink of a suit reveal but now those bastards probably won't show it to us for a while. I sure am going to enjoy the suit debate for another 6 months. yayyyyy...

Not even half way through actually. They're really taking their time with Hobbit.

Hobbit being half way done shooting means nothing since its a huge production for two movies. its like they still have a huge bigblockbuster to film. with reshoots.

poor WETA guys.

I'll put up with waiting longer. But that doesn't mean I have to like it.

Seriously? We're all just fine with it? Because we're not all so insanely impatiently tearing at our hair waiting for it that we keep jumping down each others throats every time the suit is mentioned, desperately clawing at rumours, constantly complaining when nothing has been anounced for longer than a week...

Is NO ONE else going to admit this news has made the want to cry in utter desperation?

No?

Okay, just me then
There have been a few things in my life that have "gutted" me and made me "cry in utter desperation".....movies were never involved in any form with that happening.

Honestly, this is a good thing. WB doesn't have to market two huge films for December 2012. They'd don't have to pour more money into one while slighting the other.

WB will market the living hell out of Man of Steel for that summer. It's going to be everywhere. And, it won't have to share space.

But if they are still starting filming in August, they should still release the suit before then... cause didn't Snyder say he'd release it before filming started, to avoid snap happy people catching a glimpse of it first?

Gosh, I need to be more like Batman. He would be okay with the news. Instead I am acting more like The Flash. I want it as quickly as possible.

This kinda makes me happy. Comic over saturation might have hurt Superman in 2012. Also very tough competition would have hurt him as well. Their nothing big that comes before or after him in this date except Monsters college and the first one wasn't a huge success. This gives Superman a much better chance than in December of nexr year.

Movies in general take 2-3 years to produce...better quality movies that is.

14 months isn't going to cut it. Especially when you consider the fact that they're still in the process of building sets and that they haven't even filmed a single frame.

I'd rather they push it back. Whether it turns out good, bad, whatever...at least I know they took their time with it.

Some people...scratch that FANS, just need to chill.

I'm...actually okay with this.

They already have The Dark Knight Rises for July 20 and The Hobbit for December 14th of that year, so they were already set financially.

They needed another big release for 2013, because all they really have so far that's really big is the other Hobbit film. They do have Pacific Rim the Summer of that year, but, unless it gets a lot promotion, it doesn't really count, since it's not as well known and it's untested. They need a big summer blockbuster for Summer 2013, and Man of Steel is what they need to fill that void.
