I'm a geek... i've been crushed and gutted many many trivials things, in movies, comics... forgetting to record an episode of Lois and Clark when I was a little kid and there were no DVDS yet.

Wasn't Goyer quoted a couple days ago saying that filming for the movie would begin next week? Maybe I am mistaken. However, If they still revealed the costume during comic con like i had hoped, than i feel the news wouldn't affect me as much. 14 months isn't going to cut it. Especially when you consider the fact that they're still in the process of building sets and that they haven't even filmed a single frame.

That's what I think too. I mean, Half-Blood Prince was scheduled to come out November 2008. Then TDK came out and cleaned house that July, and so WB decided to push it back eight months to July 2009 to have a reliably-performing movie next year.

I won't be surprised if production continues as scheduled, and Snyder has the film completed in fall 2012. That way, WB can properly get their marketing in line or push up the movie's release if it fits them.

I think WB will have the movie ready by late 2012, and they can push it up to April or something if they want. April 2013 has a clear field (4/5, 4/12, 4/19, 4/26), and it has time to make money before IM-3 and FF6 come out.

On the other hand, WB doesn't have a lot of 2013 summer tentpoles slated now, aside from MOS and Pacific Rim. Then again, Universal kick-started the summer blockbuster craze around late April with FF5.

I hate that its moved back. In my opinion though this a vote of confidence in MOS. They could have left it as it was and not only would it compete with Hobbit but also the TDKR blu ray release along with Christmas.A prime summer slot is a good thing gives em longer to get everything right.

It's a summer blockbuster movie not a winter movie. Summer release makes more sense. The additional six months are so will allow opportunity for better FX shots and not a rushed production schedule. Also, Nolan's involvement may increase now.

WB would love to always have at least 2 big releases every summer.

If superman is their second for 2013 that's great but they're not releasing it in the spring that's ever worse than the winter scenario some people didn't agree with(I like the winter(and so does Cameron)). They will set in after april even if Snyder loves the march suicide dates.

This will be WB's star trek in that respect I think.

No, they're not. Marvel and Disney have a May 3, 2013 date for Iron Man 3, while Thor 2 is scheduled for a July 26, 2013 release.

Plus, I wouldn't be surprised if Fox schedules a XFC sequel or Wolverine 2 for summer 2013 too.

This movie won't compete with Iron Man just like Iron Man didn't compete with TDK. Its obvious. Make a good Superhero movie and people will go see it. Proven formula.

According to Toberoff (as quoted by Variety): "The Court pointedly ruled that if Warner Bros. does not start production on another Superman film by 2011, the Siegels will be able to sue to recover their damages."

No mention of when the movie has to be released. The court would probably assume in a timely manner. And 2013 would be reasonably timely.
