I don't know, could all be one in the same. No need for a sterile environment during torture, or just trying to see if you could graft a cybernetic arm on a guy without immediately killing him.

I can only assume the bit with Stark's introduction is a reference to the flying cars in the Marvel Universe that Fury and SHIELD agents frequently use.

Definitely, as well as him welding the shield for a brief bit; and being a soldier who "dies" in the snow i.e. Winter - could be some cool things afoot.

Wasn't she first introduced somewhere between issues 30-40?? I'm trying to think off the top of my head which exact issue, but I know it was in those early Stan Lee runs.

In the original comics(1942) they show the old lady with a gun who removes the mask and they say she is there best agent codenamed X-13.....i believe it wasnt until the revival in the Marvel Age where she was developed further

Probably not a direct easter egg, but Rogers jumping from taxi cab to taxi cab reminded me of The Phantom movie (with Billy Zane), which also happens to be set in the 1940s.

Another foreshadowing bit for The Winter Soldier was Bucky using his sniper rifle to save Steves life .

I never noticed the original Human Torch scene. I'll have to go back to the cinema again...

I saw the Torch scene but at the time couldn't quite place who he was. I would've liked to have seen Dr Phineas Horton mentioned or even appearing in person.
Another "Easter Egg" I would've liked would've been some actual Nazis with swastikas, and a swastika flag. That was sadly missing from the movie. |

Lol, I think a lot of people msised the Torch scene or saw the suit, but forgot who it was. When I saw the suit, I kept thinknig "Who was that? It's on the tip of my toungue."

^ He did look vaguely familiar but at that point I had a mental block while watching the movie, because I wasn't expecting to see him at all.

i may be reaching here, but when steve says "maybe she has a sister" to bucky after peggy rejects him, that may be a nod to sharon.
it is my understanding that in the old comics sharon was peggy's kid sister and later on became her niece due to the sliding timeframe. |

I dispute this, to me it look like he was transported like the effect was really close to the Bifröst effects in Thor |

During the scene where Dr. Erskine was telling Steve about the Red Skull's history, at the shot of seeing the Red Skull marching with the banner behind him, and several shots of him marching behind him as well...it reminded me of Hugo's Mr. Smith's days.lol

Red Skull didn't die... did he? I thought he got transported to another dimension. The effect they used was pretty much bang on like the transportation effect in Thor.

Another thing, anyone notice how the "charging" noise for the HYDRA guns and whatnot sounded exactly like Iron Man's repulsors?

The insignia on caps shirt when he wakes up in the present is the same as the insignia for steves unform in The Super Soldier miniseries as well as the Secret Avengers .

Might be reading into it too much, but the surveillance camera in the Hydra POW factory looks a bit like RoboZola's head-gear.

People keep suggesting that Tony Stark developed 'vibranium' as the new element in IM2. I still argue that the new element was in fact the same power that the Tesseract (Cosmic Cube) generates. Vibranium is a mineral. How would it power Iron Man's armor? That never made sense to me. Now with Howard Stark finding the Cube in CA:TFA I am even more convinced that he spent time studying the power of the Cube but didn't have the knowledge and the tech to fully exploit it. So he films the message for his young son Tony to discover when he is older (as seen in IM2) and Tony figures out how to properly harness the same energy source that the Red Skull and Armin Zola used to power their weapons in CA:TFA.
I also think the Skull never really fully understood the capabitlies of the Cosmic Cube. He never actually held it in his hand until the showdown inside the cockpit of the Valkyrie bomber. Once he did he saw that the Cube was far more than a mere energy source. Heres hoping he returns in future movies in a major way. |
