I wonder what the body count will be like for Loki's killings this time around?

Truth be told, the only things that we saw him killing in person in "Thor" were Frost Giants, while he had brought damage to Earth and most likely slaughtered some SHIELD Agents with the Destroyer, along with having "killed" thor with it as well.

This will probably be the first time that we see Loki kill innocent civilians for once.

As sad as his story may be, I think that in order to truly push him to being a downright evil villain once and for all, is if we really see him becoming the type of murderer that you wouldn't want to run into at all period in order to increase on how terrifying it could be if you were to get Loki angry.

Especially if he is, effectively, going to be the main villain that the Avengers are going to have to face down. But I think they handled his character well in Thor, and now they have that space to develop it so that he does become that villain that you know wouldn't hesitate to kill. In think that's perhaps why I liked his performance, script and development in Thor. He didn't really start out as a completely cold-hearted murderer, but there was that sense of impending doom. And I think for his character that doom is going to come in the Avengers and we'll see a much more villainous Loki, so to speak.

Agreed; as I had mentioned before, his path towards villainy is somewhat similar to the likes of Harvey Dent/Two Face and Erik/Magneto, where they all shared experiencing some type of tragedy that ultimately warped the way that they perceived life.

Heck, even after having seen TDK and X:FC (along with the other X men films), it's sad to see at times on how much different the tragic villains are between the times that they weren't villains to the times that they were because there's such a big difference in their personalities (obviously).

I mean, I read someone saying on how even though you wouldn't want Loki to succeed in "Thor", you still understood on where he was coming from.

Hell, truth be told, from what we have seen thus far, I honestly don't think Loki would have invaded Earth if Odin were a better father, and if Thor's impatience didn't take them to the Frost Giants planet where Loki had discovered his heritage.

As far as comparisons go, I think the Erik portrayed in First Class is a very good one, as is Two Face. They aren't simply just the villains you love to hate. They're the villains whose stories are truly tragic in many was.

Man, I do hope they keep the kind of tragic edge to the character, with his motives not being outright evil.

I loved that aspect of Loki in the Thor movie.

Maybe it's one of the Infinity Gems on Loki's staff.. that would lead to Thanos for a future sequel

Just curious, but if Loki is essentially a Frost Giant that's cloaked by Asgardian magic, shouldn't he theoretically have all of the freezing abilities that they posses?

I don't think, according to things that Tom Hiddleston has said that Loki will perish in the Avengers if that's what you're going for. He'd made references that in the Thor sequel he would have to atone for the things he's done.

Well, I was thinking of this today but I'm a bit concerned for Tom Hiddleston. The really good actors tend to effectively portray their characters by actually getting into their heads. Call me crazy if you want but I just keep thinking of Heath Ledger and the Joker, and just what that might have done to his mind. What concerns me is just the depth of mad darkness that Loki descends to. Tom Hiddleston is such a wonderful, intelligent, dedicated actor and I'd hope that he's doing fine.

Hahahaha I'm sure Hiddleston will manage to refrain from delving into madness and schemes of world domination.

Hiddles gets his fair share of love on the Internets. Apparently playing the God of Mischief is akin to playing a vampire. Drives the fangirls wild.

And that's all he really needs for World Domination. Never underestimate the might of the fangirls.

When you come right down to it, well for me anyway, it's that voice of his. If he was my sweetheart I'd always want to cook for him because I'd make him read the recipes just to hear his voice. I never thought I could be so turned on by a man's voice alone.

He should you would think. Its possible that since he was a "runt" he's not as powerful in that way as they are though.

You know, after seeing Thor again on blu ray, for me personally, Loki is going to need to really do some freaking messed up things in this film for me to consider him as a full on villain because even though I don't agree with what Loki did in the events of "Thor", I didn't see him as a villain and I felt sorry for the character since he came off as more tragic than the likes of Anakin Freaking Skywalker (meaning, I felt more sorry for Loki than I did for Anakin.lol)
