Amanda Righetti is Sharon Carter

I figured I would jump the gun and go ahead with this thread as Amanda Righetii is confirmed to be in The Avengers. Let me just point out in TFA she appears at the end when Steve wakes up and says "All agent code 13", and coupled with the reports that she would play Agent 13, Sharon Carter, it's all but confirmed she is playing her. In the story it would make perfect sense for Sharon to be introduced now as Steve could use a little comfort now that Peggy is "gone" and who better then for her niece to provide it?

Just for the hell of it just for a comparison, Amanda looks very much like Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter).

I really geeked out, when I heard "Agent 13" at that last scene in Cap movie. Can't wait to see her in The Avengers movie & Cap 2.

Well, as you said, it's too early to know for sure as to what role specifically Amanda is playing.

Personally, I'm somewhat conflicted at the idea due to the fact that I've grown to be such a fan of Atwell to a large degree, that I've also come to wish for her to play the role of Sharon as well.

I haven't seen any of Amanda's previous work, so I'm not entirely familiar with how well her acting abilities are, let alone on what kind of chemistry she'll have with Evans if she were to play Sharon, and it's only natural for some to wish and see Steve having interactions with a new love interest that are just as good, not worse, than his previous one.

But at the same time, IF Sharon was indeed in this film, it would give him another way to have a emotional outlet in this film, something I kind of wish that he'd have due to the way that CA ended.

They don't really look that much alike at all, especially if you watch Amanda in the Mentalist. Here it looks like more of a case of trying to find a pic to match Hayley as even her other pics on the net don't really show much of a resemblance (not that this one does either).

Those two pics are not the best in comparing the two. There are pics where there is definitely a likeness shared between them. I just picked poor pics.

But I don't need to look at pics. I've seen Amanda in the Mentalist dozens of times where you can see her moving and interacting with others (which is what she would be doing in a film), and I don't see much of a resemblance. You couldn't go just by still photos even if there are some, because that's not a true indication.

It is really exciting that we will probably be getting Sharon in this movie. We never had any indication she would be until the Righetti news starting to pop up so its awesome. It will be interesting to see how Steve would act around Sharon...

True. Though Righetti looks like Sharon and you could at least beleive Amanda is related to Hayley. They dont have too look totally alike.

For me, assuming IF Amanda is Sharon Carter, all that matters is that she's able to demonstrate the same strength that Atwell was able to do for Peggy Carter in a EFFECTIVE way.

The last thing I want is for Captain America to be given a dull female lead like Katie Holmes was for the Batman Franchise, or Jessica Alba for FF.

I don't know if she comes across as that strong of a character or actress from what I've seen of her in the Mentalist.

Also, this thread title should be modified until we get official confirmation that Amanda is Sharon - even just an interview with her.

It also boils down to what the script allows Sharon Carter to do - she's not going to have a lot of screentime, and with significantly less scenes it may be tough to compare her with Hayley/Peggy who was obviously a dominant female lead.

On The Mentalist Righetti usually looks very, how shall I put this, Amazonian? I don't know, I always thought she's very athletic and strong. She has a good voice, too. She's also a better actress than what you'd expect from reading her resume (O.C.?). I don't think anybody needs to worry about her being a letdown.

Well she certainly has that athletic build and beautiful face that I've seen Comic Book Heroines possess in films, and she definitely gives a good first impression imho.

And IF she's Sharon, I mainly see her being Steve's guide for the Modern World and helping him potentially find enough closure so that he can be more focused on his duties.

She Is suspose to be In The Avengers.We don't know what character she Is officially but rumor Is she Is Sharon Carter.The end scene was probally one of the things
Joss Whedon worked on during his rewrite of Captain America.She was put Into Captain America probally so she could be In a few scenes of The Avengers and then get a bigger
role In the likely Cap sequel.
