Picked up the Best Buy exclusive. Sure, it's $4 more than Target or Wal-mart, but, oh well.
I won't have the chance to watch it this week though.

When I went to my town's Wal-Mart this afternoon to buy it....they were sold out. I have never seen them sell out of a new movie on it's day of release before.

Was going to get Blu-ray Combo at Best Buy but saw a display at grocery store (Kroger) with coupons for free 7-Up products. So, was going to spend the money anyway might as well get two free 2 liters to enjoy with it.

Of the deleted scenes, that's the best. (The others were obviously good cuts) A lot more dialogue exchanged between Steve and Fury and it kind of makes more sense. It's less dramatic and a bit bulky but it gives more depth and exposition to what just happened. I can see both sides of the argument. Keep the tone poignant and crisp because the audience can figure out the suspended animation angle. Yet, Steve asking about it seems natural.

The "Did we win?" question with Fury saying "Hell yeah" should've stayed in the theatrical version, however.

The cover art blows. Why didn't they use the "retro" poster? That was a million times awesome!

I agree about the cover art. It really isn't as good as the other Marvel films.
I know that this is going to sound kinda stupid, but I bought The 3D Blu-Ray combo pack pretty much for the cover alone. I don't own a 3D TV and 3D Blu-Ray player and do not know anyone that does...yet. I figured that I liked the cover so much more than the standard edition and it was only a few dollars more, so what the heck? You never know, I may buy the 3D components someday and if I do I'll already have a great movie to test it out on!

(For the record, I hated the Bat-Pod cover that they used on The Dark Knight Blu-Ray too! The DVD's cover with Batman standing in front of the skyscraper with the burning Bat-emblem in the background was sooo much cooler! I wish they would have just released the same artwork on all the formats. Why do these studios do this crap? Oh yeah, so nerds like me will buy multiple copies! BLAST THOSE GREEDY BASTARDS!)

The Best Buy Blu-Ray special looks awesome. Nice Cap shot on the front and Cap #1 design on the back. 8-)

One cap/fury question - do whole episodes of the simpsons actually play on times square monitors? Cartoon with yellow people behind Steve. Hard to miss lol.

There wasn't much deleted from this movie, LOL! I think the cuts they made were fine.

Anything else of note from deleted scenes besides the trench warfare scene?

Agreed, but like Thor, the stupid LIMITED 3D EDITION font put on it ruined it for me so I'll have to import the Cap Steelbook from Mexico (uses the 3D cover) and the Thor steelbook from England (which coincidentally also uses its 3D cover). I'm OCD like that, but then again, I love steelbooks regardless if they're G1 or G2.

I bought the blu ray 3D combo pack and the audio seemed really low to me - anyone else experience that?

There are several sites out there where you can download the cover of your choice for free.

I bought the bluray regular DVD combo....and the sound on the regular DVD was low (had to turn the volume up on my TV much more than usual)....so it could be all the DVDs are like this.

First, before I comment, it's not trench warfare, as I understand the term. The Americans may be in foxholes, but it is not trench warfare.

Ok, first I'll discuss presentation. The cover on the Blu-ray is s**t. Photoshopped pic where Cap's head is too big and his hand looks like that guy from the Burger King commercial. The 3D one is the best option in the States, and I wish I had it for mine. Cover's not worth an extra $2 (my newspaper boy has been hounding me for weeks for that anyway). The menus look nice. Reminds me that the end credits were some of the best that I've ever seen on film.

The BTS stuff was why I bought the blu-ray. The Transformation was the best to watch for me. I'm astonished at how well the Skinny Steve effects were. Joe had the best explanation I've heard for why it worked so well. He comments that they used different combinations of different tricks for each shot. Even within a single scene, there would be various techniques used to accomplish Skinny Steve. Because the mind is constantly looking for the single trick used, and it never stays the same, the mind accepts the effect as real. Makes sense to me. That, and Chris absolutely nailed the posture, speech, and mannerisms of a small, meek individual. The worst featurette was for The Avengers. It was just a poorly edited trailer of sorts with no merit.

Onto the deleted scenes. They all needed to be cut. As far as storytelling and pace, there were no bad decisions. The information in the Times Square scene was useful, but I like the way the movie played it. What the movie does is take all those natural questions and puts them after the "I had a date" line. The audience knows that information will be relayed to Steve, but I think the date and Peggy would be the first thing on his mind. It was the last thing on it when he crashed. It was a beautiful moment, and the cut exposition makes it that way.

I haven't listened to the commentary, yet. I'm excited to hear Joe's notes throughout the movie, but wish Chris and some of the actors were available to discuss as well. Overall, it was a good expense of $23.

Picked it up yesterday at Best Buy.

I'm going to have to make some time to watch all of these back to back. I assume the timeline goes like this:

Captain America: TFA, Iron Man, TIH, IM2, Thor

Iron Man Three - May 3, 2013
Thor: The Dark World - November 8, 2013
Captain America: The Winter Soldier - April 4, 2014

The Avengers 2 - May 1, 2015
Iron Man will return
