Probably because the second half (or probably the last third, would be more accurate) of CATFA is where the movie should really be taking off, since it's where Cap becomes a true superhero. Instead, we're treated to an 80s style montage to hurry up the ending. Really hurt the pacing of the movie.

Yeah, it really is poor and takes any feeling out of the movie for me. All the emotion and interest thats built up in the first hour is just lost, until the final moments when the plane goes down in arctic. Its a really poor part of the movie for me.

Well I'm gonna have to chalk that up to personal taste, which is fine. Everyone has their own unique tastes. Myself, I so far have found every MCU film to either get better with repeat viewings or at least not diminish with them and CA:TFA is no exception for me. There are even a few non-MCU superhero movies that also achieve this for me(Superman TM, Batman Begins, Incredibles, Rocketeer, Unbreakable, Blade, Kick-Ass) but I have yet to see another outside-made Marvel film(other than Blade1) that didn't diminish with repeat viewings and XM:FC is certainly no exception to this rule. I don't think I could ever sit through GL a second time. Once was enough of a chore.

To me, Thor stays about even with how much I liked it when I first saw it but Cap is the one that got better for me the more times I watch it(and I already greatly enjoyed it the first time I saw it).

Honestly it didn't bother me at all. Didn't even occur to me until I came here and saw some people had a problem with it. Kinda still scratching my head about the complaint as I don't get it. We got to see him on a couple of individual missions and those were well done. Then the montage and then the final mission. Works for me.

I don't mind the montage so much (altho personally I wish it conveyed more of a sense of time passing) but I do feel Bucky's demise was too sudden and lacking in emotional impact.

I have found every MCU movie has improved with repeat viewings as well, and I honestly expected nothing less from Cap, I have found plenty of movies average after watching them in the cinema but then grown to really like them. But I dont know what it was with Cap, I just REALLY lost interest after the aftermath of the factory rescue. Up until that point I was loving the movie.

It bothered me even in the cinema, the movie just lost all feeling, emotion and structure during that part for me and I quickly lost interest. There wasnt even really any decent action to keep me interested during it either.

Definately, I felt nothing, absolutely nothing when Bucky died when watching the movie both at home and in the cinema, and it should be a pivotel moment in the movie and in Cap's development.

I still get kinda angry about the ending. Once you see that deleted scene with Nick Fury, you will wish they kept all that dialogue in. It wouldn't have made the scene but maybe about 15 seconds longer. And even though they want to explore Cap's "Man out of time" aspect in Avengers, I still feel that it could have been left in for the general public.

Nick explaining that he isn't sure how Cap is still alive, the "we won the war" line, and more importantly him just introducing himself. I know of a few people who asked "Who is Sam playing?" His explaination of "We don't know, suspended animation or Erskines serum" was simple, but actually filled in the gap. Still, I love this movie, it's one of my favorites, that's just a small gripe I had after watching the deleted stuff.

That sounds interesting, will have to watch the deleted scene's I havent had a chance yet.

I think the way it happened in the movie was fine. It gave closure to the movie and introduced the "man out of time" idea. I don't have a gripe with really anything that got cut from the movie. It was very tight and well done.

Well as of 12/11/11 the DVD+Blu Ray sales figures for CA:TFA topped $80M and combined with the WW theatrical $ puts it's total(as of then) at $450M. Not sure how much more it sold in the last two weeks but another $5-10M isn't out of the question, hypothetically.

I disagree. Even though it might have filled in some more details, I thought the extra dialogue in the last scene would have just come off as clunky exposition if they left it in. The scene was far more powerful and tighter as it was in the final cut. It leaves the audience wondering, and it illustrates that Steve is basically in shock, but still thinking of Peggy.

I had to get Rocketeer at Barnes and Noble of all places, that was dvd tho. I DID have a Special edition that an Ex GF borrowed and never returned

I bought the Combo Bluray/DVD/Digital PLUS the regular dvd of Thor.
Reason was the regular DVD was GOING to be a present until my son said he didn't want it, not that he doesn't like Thor, more like his aims are at games.

Got the movie when it first released on BR and was just finally able to watch it again. I actually liked it better now than when I first viewed it in theater. I definitely enjoyed it at the movies, just seemed like a better movie when viewed in my own home theater.

Hi,

This is probably an obvious question, but I keep looking and haven't seen this specifically answered anywhere. In the blu-ray/DVD 2 pack, are all the special features on both the blu-ray and regular DVD or just the blu-ray? I have the same question for the Thor special features.
