I'm so excited! Too bad it's not going to be out for a long time. My wife and I loved playing Borderlands 1

Rage is an FPS with driving elements and Borderlands is a cooperative loot-driven action RPG.

Though, as with most post-apocalyptic games, they do look kind of similar. (Though labeling Borderlands as "post-apocalyptic" is kind of a common misnomer.)

I would say RAGE has more in common with Fallout 3 than it does Borderlands. It has a crafting system with recipes and such, you have to upgrade and repair armor and there is 'loot' (looting bodies for items) but it is not the loot driven style of game that Borderlands is.

Force Borderlands and Fallout to make a baby at gunpoint, and I think you get RAGE.

To me Rage's gameplay looks more like Stalker or Far Cry 2 than Fallout 3.
Visually it looks like Fallout 3 and Borderlands, kinda generic.

Man, that GI article has me so pumped. It looks like they're planning on improving on pretty much every front I thought needed improving. The new animations and NPC behaviour stuff sounds great, as does the new mission variety.

I just hope they generally leave the targeting system the same, just the way it handled, it's the only FPS I've ever enjoyed actually playing.

Yeah, I thought the way the characters actually handled, melee and shooting, was great. More interesting melee animations would be cool though, and perhaps some sort of execution move.

Also, very happy about the improved vehicle handling. The collision detection in Borderlands one drove me crazy. I don't know how many times in General Knoxx I'd be driving along a straight road in a racer and I'd just spontaneously lift into the air, do a barrel roll and then end up facing the wrong way and upside down.

Yeah, I got used to the handling but hitting a pebble and coming to a dead stop could get annoying.

I like the dual wielding guy's look better than Brick, but I guess I just like my butch, bad ass dudes big and beardy lol. He's got a kinda Wolverine vibe which I can dig. I'm really curious to see what other character types there are. Please PLEASE let there be a bad ass ninja. Also, I wouldn't mind more customisation options. Like different outfits, or more than 3 tiers of colour options, as well as a colour wheel. I'm somewhat of a customisation whore :P

I was going to get Rage until I read that the co-op is limited to a handful of missions. PASS. A game like that needs co-op.

I think Far Cry 3 looks more interesting than Rage. The trailer was really cool.
Fix the Far Cry 2 problems and it can end up being an awsome open ended shooter.

You should at least watch the E3 presentation for Far Cry 3. Pretty cool.

I quite enjoyed Far Cry 2. If that game had been co-op, I reckon i'd still be playing it now.

For a gun that takes up half the screen, it sure lacks punch.

Well that's the Borderlands way isn't it? Your guns all suck, then you level up until things are perfect, then it's so easy it gets boring so you get careless and then all of a sudden BANG, level 61 enemies for no reason and everyone is like Crawmerax the Invincible
