sorry guys, there is a good tutorial that explains well how the pieces are sewn? I have some problem with low-back seating area ...
For example the back of the mask must be sewn so that the line of the webs are superposed ? need some photo.... ![]() Another one big question.... The mask...can i separate from the suit? no risk of losing the continuity of the plot? |

Hey everyone,
I'm trying to buy something like this: http://www.costumeexpress.com/The-Am...uctDetail.aspx For a teen 38-40, but can't find it anywhere. I'm sure nobody else would have a lead on one either, but if you do let me know. |

Yep...find a local print shop that offers dye sublimation printing. You have to get your fabric also.

After seeing shots of the TASM suit like this:
![]() And hearing that Peter pops the lenses out of sunglasses and uses them in his mask, I've sort of been wanting to make a homemade TASM-inspired mask myself. So, I decided to do it! I knew I had some cheap, old sunglasses, so I took the lenses from them... The lenses (ignore the paper, just an old sketch I never bothered to finish ):![]() For the frame, I just used some cardboard from a cereal box. ![]() The frame is just a rough version to test a few things. I've got some red cloth, gonna work on my sewing skills in the meantime... Last edited by Troy_Parker; 06-16-2012 at 05:33 PM. |

Nice job troy, great creativity but for the frames I suggest liquid plastic.

Nice job troy, great creativity but for the frames I suggest liquid plastic.and for the rest of the mask you are going to need puff paint or tulip paint to make the hexagon pattern and black lines.

The creativity and excitement kind of reminds me of when the first Spidey film was going to be released and a lot of us were scrambling trying to figure out how to reproduce the costume LOL! Awesome! My sewing was terrible but my frames and spiders weren't bad. FYI tulip 3d paint is time consuming because you can only do a section at a time and it takes a good 4 hours to dry enough to continue, but the result is nice. Thats how we did the webbing on our suits back in the day LOL! Good luck all

So I decided to scrap the cardboard frames.
![]() Made the mask out of an old t-shirt, it's not properly sewed, which is why it's cropped. :P The lenses are also temporarily attached with double-sided tape, I probably won't be using this in the final mask as they fall off if you move around... Could anybody recommend something that doesn't require me to glue the lenses onto the mask (I want to be able to take the lenses off)? I know I could use magnets, but is there anything else..? |

Hey guys! I am new to the forums, and after months of lurking, here is my first post! I am currently making a spidey outfit for the release night of the new film, and for comicon 2012, and I have to say, it is coming along great! I will post some images in this thread as my suit nears completion. It is of my own design, and is a hybrid of the Andrew Garfield suit, the classic suit, and the Tobey Maguire suit. It is an eight piece suit, and I will share the method to making that work once my tailor and I have the mock up completed.

Hello, I am just now planning to make my own suit, but I have been having a problem. When I sew together the mask, the meeting of the seams makes a point up, looking like a weird bump jutting out of my head. Anyone know how to avoid this?
