I'm in my league's championship game, trying to decide on which QB to start.

Matt Ryan vs. Detroit

or

Aaron Rodgers vs. Tennessee

Right now, my team looks like this lineup looks like this:

Starting:

WR
Julio Jones
Stevie Johnson
Dez Bryant

RB
Doug Martin
Stevan Ridley

TE
Tony Gonzalez

K
Prater

DEF
Houston

Bench:

WR: Denario Alexander, Denarius Moore
RB: David Wilson
TE: Aaron Hernandez
DEF: Oakland

Ok advice givers. I've made the semi-finals in my league and in this round I'm playing the number one player in our league. I've got a few favorable match-ups, but I could use a fresh eye to take a peak at my team and see what can be done.

Not pictured is the Falcons defense, which I picked up off the waiver wire.

byrd man:

i'd go with

rodgers (him and ryan both have good matchups but i trust rodgers more to have a big game)

wr:
julio jones
dezbian
alexander (jets suck, dolphins at least try to be respectable. also, alexander has more upside to get points than stevie johnson)

rb:
martin
ridley

te:
gonzales (both good matchups. ryan loves throwing it to gonzales while hernandez shares a lot of brady's passes to his teammates)

k:
prater

def:
houston

matt mortem: the only thing i'd change in your lineup is your te spot. i'd start daniels over bennett.

starting the falcons over the broncos ain't a bad idea. i like the broncos' chances of scoring more defensive point though

Thanks. That's kinda what I was thinking of doing. Daniels is really hit or miss lately, and that bugs me. After last weeks Giants disaster starting any Giant has me cautious. I'll probably start Broncos D, but I picked up the Falcons D after dropping the Lions D (who was supposed to do great against AZ, but look how that turned out).

def Chris Johnson,Tits are a run first team, so expect Johnson to touch the rock at least 20 times this weekend.

I have Johnson in 3 leagues as my second running back, he quietly had over 1,000 yards last year.

Stick with Ridley for one more week, it's only week 3. They have had 10 days to game plan.

Boldin did dick for me last week. I kept him in

Do you think Boldin is a better look this week or will he still go on the decline. Granted no ones secondary is as good as the Seahawks

Running backs who I'm targeting late in drafts
Bishop Sanky- Titans
Terrence West -Brown (Do not be fooled by the Browns signing Ben Tate, West is Mike Patines guy)
Khiry RObinson -Saints (Saints decided to run with him during the playoffs and made an impact for them, I expect them to continue using him more)
Bernard Pierce - Ravens ( Ray Rice expected to miss some games, and Pierce is more suited towards Kubiaks offense.

So Ive been doing a bit of draft prep today and decided to test out the ''no rb'' theory (basically don't draft a rb until the 6th round but only use this if you are drafting at the tail end of the draft)

drafted at the 9th spot ( took Calvin and Antonio , and only took Miller and Thomas in the 7th round)

Article I find and agree with.

Quote:
I see a lot of posts about draft strategy (obviously), but all of the advice is geared toward a league in which the majority of people know what they are doing. Most of us are probably also in a league or two in which not as many of the owners are as "into" it as we are. I've found there needs to be slight differences in draft approach if you want to keep your bragging rights in these leagues.

Casual Players will draft QB's and defenses earlier than you. There are a couple implications here. The biggest of them is that waiting for a QB may no longer be a viable strategy. If 6-8 people in the league plan on taking a backup QB before you plan on taking your first, you are going to be stuck with a QB way farther down on your rankings than you thought. When defenses are drafted so early, more players you are targeting in the late rounds will fall to you, which is important because...

Stockpiling at RB and WR early is not as necessary as in a competitive league. That's not to say you shouldn't get a good stock of those players, but it is much better in a casual league to get the elite players at each position. This is because 1: more of your favorite sleepers will be available later in the draft. 2: they won't trade with you. Having 5 great WR's is worthless if they sit on the bench and nobody will trade with you because of either apathy or the assumption that you are trying to rip them off. And 3: They won't be paying attention to the waiver wire, so you have a much better shot at good pickups throughout the season.

Know the people in your league. Casual players are much more influenced by things that are not very relevant. Look for owners who love a certain team and are biased, or want players who graduated from the same college, or even stranger things.

Hope you found this interesting, these are just my observations
