^Yeah, I hear his name surprisingly often in terms of random people wanting him in there.

I think T'Challa will have a very shadowy sixth ranger helper type position. If they do him any justice, he's a match for Cap and Stark on the ground and Stark and Banner in the lab. He matches Cap and Fury for leadership, and Widow and Hawkeye for stealth. That's a lot of capability for a single character in a team setting. They're going to have to give him some sort of limitation so he doesn't single handedly solve everything. Not trusting the Avengers seems likely.

Some clowns on another site suggested, if Black Panther is used, his name be changed simply to "Panther".

Then there are people on this site who claim BP is not only redundant but a result of affirmative action.

Makes me wonder if Black Panther can make it to the big screen with his integrity intact.

Dropping the 'Black' from Black Panther would work about as well as dropping the 'Of Mars' from John Carter of Mars.

It's actually even worse.

It would be taking away the character's legacy and edgy name to appease people who feel he shouldn't be loosely associated with the Black Panther Party which they feel is some kind of evil, racist terrorist organization.

They already debated whether they should change the Black Panther's name back during 60's when the Black Panther Party first emerged and Marvel decided to keep it. Why the hell would you change it now?

Trust me I am giddy as hell...even if nothing comes of this people at Marvel know my name as a screenwriter...however I keep having these dreams of directing Black Panther and making a lot of money and being the guy to bring a heroic black man to the screen in recent times....my dreams are big...and I have to calm myself and prepare incase they say no.
