Default Bats and Cats

Do you think that the bats from the first movie will return to this one? Also, do you think there will be cats present in this movie as well? If so, how could they be involved in this film?

I noticed this when watching both Begins and TDK the other day that There were alot of Bats used for special effects and just to give it a creepy batman feel. Then on the TDK I dont think they used bats at all.
So I hope they return to begins for the amount of bats...

I read a post where someone noted that Nolan uses specific images in the Batman films that correlate with the title or some message in the film.

In the first movie we're introduced to a man dressed in a costume that has a bat motif hence the scenes with Bruce and bats.

In the second movie Batman is called the Dark Knight and so his suit was made to look like knight's armor AND he rode a *****in motorcycle like a knight would ride a horse back when riding horses was the #1 preferred choice by people on the go.

In this installment, we have Batman flying an aerial vehicle, hence the 'Rises' part of the title. We're going to be introduced to a cat woman. She might be a love interest for Batman. So what Im thinking is that Nolan might include a scene where there is some interspecies sex between a cat and a bat. It would be symbolic of a sexual relationship between Batman and Catwoman.

Well, they are returning to the bat cave, so we are bound to see a few flapping around in there. I'm not sure about them out and about in the city. I'm not expecting it. And regarding the cats, no idea.

Yea they didn't use the bats at all, but The Dark Knight was still awesome without them.

Well because this series have a realistic portrayal of Batman, the cats would not be superstitious

Wow! That is a great analysis of the series so far and a good idea for the third!

Cats doesn't really fit with the "realistic" approach to this trilogy. To my knowledge, the play was first performed in 1980, and considering it's the second-longest running Broadway show in history, I think Cats is too well-known and mainstream to be considered fresh and original in TDKR.

But as far as Bats goes, I wouldn't mind seeing Lou Diamond Phillips in this film, possibly as a mob gangster. He had already played a sheriff in the 1999 film, so maybe this would be a good chance for him to play the other side of the law.

Cats were already brought up in The Dark Knight when Lucius said the new armor will stop a cat. LOL
