Who has the skills to build an amazing Superman game? I can't think of a studio with the knowhow to pull it off? I keep thinking Radical but I think EA closed them down?
Rocksteady want to keep going on their Batman thing (or Warner does). Maybe the guys, that did Crackdown? To be honest I can't think of a single video game yet made that can rival the scale and ambition that a true to source Superman game deserves.

Radical is still cracking, minor layoffs is all. I think they might do the best.

I'm wondering the possibilities of a Superman game on the Wii U?
Accessing all his powers and abilities with the controller?

X-ray vision by holding the wii u pad over objects on your tv and heat vision. Also a map of the world on the wii u pad, where you can hear cries for help.

That is cool, the Wii U screen to represent super sense in action. Love it.
Other random ideas: - Tilting the Wii U controller to control flight more accurately - Having a Clark Kent minigame you can play on the Wii U even when you're away from the console.

That would be great as well.
There's just so much potential that a Superman game could get from the Wii U. I wish Rocksteady would look into the idea.

Such a great game. I love playing as Supes. As long as you are in the sky, in the open world, the John Williams theme plays. I absolutely love the game and it's definitely worth it, IMO.

The challenge with Superman, that I think Rocksteady was referring to when they said 'he's not suited' is a combination of him being a powerhouse and flight. Because he can fly, you can't really give him any platforming challenges whatsoever. It's all just open sky for Superman. It's hard to make flying through the open sky much fun.
Then on top of that, he's more powerful than just about anything you'll find in an American city... but he's supposed to be playable in an American city... so you either put Superman in an alien wasteland... or you put him in an area where him being challenged looks/feels silly. There are solutions, but there aren't many games to look at for those solutions, as opposed to the number of games that have stealth/gadget/martial arts elements, which can fill a wall at Gamestop. It's more than just knowing Superman, it's making being extremely powerful with a wide range of powers both challenging and fun, and game developers generally don't have experience meeting that tall order.

If Rocksteady are basing the new Batman game on the earlier comics, then maybe they could do that with Superman?
Put him to the point of having no flight and being less of a powerhouse. Something going back to the golden age. I'm not sure if people would accept it, but it's worth a shot, and could make for a solid game.

I would be perfectly happy with Superman being weaker if it makes sense within the plot of the game, eg, he has just started out as Superman or he was "killed" by Doomsday etc.
Personally, I like the Doomsday option, because then he can be fully powered for a small time, and then severely weakened.

My guess would be that they are using this batman game to introduce other superhero's and gauge interest in them. Also, since they seem to be high on a JL movie it would be a great way to introduce gamers. |

Ah, I see. It's supposed to be a prequel to the Arkham games, and I thought it would be weird if the visuals were like the 50's comics lol
But still, it's an idea for Superman to have a game based on the early comics. They were quite grim and gritty which keeps in tone with DC and WB's game plan

Personally, I would have zero interest in a Superman game where he did not or could not fly.
That's one of his best powers, and the one that is most fantasised about by us mere mortals!

Yes. What good would a Wii U pad really be without Superman being able to fly in the game? lol
What period in the comics would you say Superman was at his least powerful, but was already flying? Work with me people, it needs to be challenging

^The John Byrne era in the 80's/90's.
They should base a Superman game off of the first five issues of the new Action Comics. No flight, just leaping, cant easily stop trains, can get hurt.

I just want a good Superman game, one that is evocative of the Batman Arkham series. Not necessarily copying them, but making a Superman game as well defined as those Batman ones were.
And make it snappy! I'm not getting any younger you know... Also needs to be multi-platform for maximum sales, please and thank you.

Just thought of this. What about a Superman game that begins by spanning the years when he was younger and discovering his powers? As you progress, those powers would gradually increase and unlock.
Then at one point, off we go to the North Pole, build the jolly old fortress and hit the world as Superman, continuing the game and getting to grips with some of Superman`s deadly foes. I'd also like to see a fair amount of the game spent as Clark Kent doing investigative journalism that leads into adventures as Superman.

They could always go with the red sun trope. Maybe Lex has red sun generators around Metropolis and as Superman destroys them he slowly regains his powers.

But like with the new AC for the Wii U, I see a Superman game's advantages lying with the console.
