Default "The Avengers" Easter Eggs Thread

I figured we should have a thread to discuss all the easter eggs that have appeared throughout all of the lead up films. These include not just hints to The Avengers but other films as well. I love how in Iron Man, one of the fighter jets are called Whiplash.

Some people think it was just a coincidence that Whiplash ended up in Iron Man 2, but what really makes me think it was purposely added in there to foreshadow him is that Tony also makes that joke about Rhodey and a girl named Ivan. It is hard to believe Whiplash was not planned since the first film. A very obscure one that I have never heard mentioned by anyone, is in The Incredible Hulk when Blonsky is sitting waiting outside Ross' office, there appears to be a drawing or picture of Steve Rogers in his Captain America uniform.

Yeah, I noticed the Whiplash thing the other night when IM1 was on. A little weird in retrospect considering they went with him for IM2's main bad guy, but then most people wouldn't have noticed that.

I also liked the shield appearing in both Iron Man films, especially in the second one where he asks a shocked Coulson to use it to prop up his experiment.

The experimental Super Soldier Serum in the Incredible Hulk was another good one (which has a generated a lot of arguments to the nature of that serum). I thought it was a nice twist that it was a combination of that and replicating what made the Hulk to turn him into the Abomination.

article about the weapons in odin's weapon room.

http://www.dailyblam.com/news/2011/0...om-odins-vault

Quote:
Along with the Casket of Ancient Winters, Odin's weapons vault contains other cosmic artifacts that include -
Confirmed:
Eternal Flame (top, left) - Mystical flame that cannot be extinguished. It was stolen from Surtur by Odin, Vili, and Ve Borson at the dawn of time so that Surtur could not light his sword and bring about Ragnarok.
Infinity Gauntlet (right) - The Infinity Gauntlet was designed to hold six of the 'soul gems', better known as the Infinity Gems. When used in combination their already impressive powers made the wearer nearly invincible.
Warlock's Eye (bottom, center) - A powerful, mystical weapon used unsuccessfully against Odin, Thor and the Warriors Three during an invasion of Asgard.
Twilight Sword (not pictured) - Created by Surtur using the energy of the exploding home galaxy of the Korbinites, it was intended to set the universe afire. Later used as a power source by Loki & Morgan Le Fay.
Rumored:
Orb of Agamotto (top, left center) - A scrying crystal ball used by Doctor Strange for clairvoyance. It has been known to open gateways between dimensions
Tablet of Life & Time (top, right center) - On the tablet was a biochemical formula for a serum, the so-called Lifeline Formula, which could rejuvinate, heal and grant its user the chance to reach the full evolutionary potential of its race turning the user into an immortal near omnipotent being.

There's supposed to be a billboard of Fin Fang Foom in Iron Man 2, but I can't find it. Favreau had said it's there tho

i think it's in the first movie, you could see it in the scenes Stark tested Mark II, it looked like a movie poster...

Captain America #1 in the box of Tony's dad's stuff.
The jets Iron Man dogfight with in IM1, their call signs are Whiplash 1 & 2.
The map in the S.H.I.E.L.D. debriefing room marks locations of other Avengers.
Hawkeye's cameo in Thor.

Orb of Agomatto? I thought it was an "eye". I don't know maybe it's both, not huge on my Strange knowledge.

What about Hawkeye's super quick appearance in Thor? When Coulson's giving him orders as to whether to shoot or not. The first time I saw this scene it made me unexplainably happy.

Wasn't it confirmed it's not the Eye of Agamotto?

I thought this thread was about the easter eggs that we'd like to appear in the movie The Avengers, or that most likely will apper. We already know what easter eggs appeared in the MCU movies, now, what would like to see the TA movie???

Some reference to Pym, or at the very least a hint of the next Avenger on the roster for the sequel. I definitely don't expect to see as many eggs in this one, as there is no need for all of them anymore.

I'd like to see these: A web dangling from a building. A line of ants infesting the helicarrier. Some kind of reference to Wakanda. Somehow reference Captain Marvel!

I would like some mention of Hank Pym working for SHIELD or trying to be recruited by SHIELD. Hell reference to a lot of heroes wanted for the Avengers would be great. Maybe even a list or a screen showing all kinds of locations, including Wakanda. Hank and Jan are the ones that really need to be referenced, imo. They're two of the original Avengers and it's really a shame that they couldn't fit into this one. The Hawkeye and Black Widow replacements are fair and all but still.

Atlantis, wakanda, new mexico, latveria, savage land, new york, california, etc... were all "dots" on the map in iron man 2.

A Sketch of the tesseract is shown in ironman 2

Selvig speaks of banner and a second doctor in thor... that second doctor is meant to be pym, but it got cut.

I would like to see reference to Thor 2, Cap2, IM3, IHulk2 Villains --Baron Zemo & Arim Zola taking over Hydra (two shall take its place). Loki saved by Hela and sends Enchantress or Surtur. more Justin Hammer with the Mandarin. Finally for the hulk a nod of the Leader.

Other easter eggs would be Cap need a new shield and Wakanda is mentions, or Namor is mentioned.

With Odin's Weapons vault you could have a bit of everything. Even Doctor Strange + Infinity gaulet

THEY"VE DONE A GREAT JOB LEAVING THE DOORS OPEN

Are next nods really should be Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Namor. Not Any-man, because to bring in Ant-Man & Wasp would bring in Ultron (which is a good thing) but really needs to be put back, because if its rushed you'll screw it all up.

We have to stop talking/Scratch Iron fist until we get Doctor Strange successful. As for Luke Cage we can't get punisher working correctly how can we do it with Luke then?

there were a few subtle nods to black panther already, so I suspect a mention of wakanda anywhere soon.

I'd like easter eggs to films Marvel has plans for after Avengers. Iron Fist, Dr. Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy and even throw in Namor, though there hasn't been anything announced for that project. Just even a reference to something that's apart of the character(s)...

Like K'un-Lun could be mentioned as it's the stronghold of a colony of humanoid aliens. Maybe a mention of Atlantis by Fury, stuff like that.

A reference to the Pyms wouldn't force them to rush Ultron. They were already well established and active with the Avengers before Ultron was even built.

And there's really no reason Dr. Strange or the Punisher would preclude either of the Heroes for Hire. Really not much of a connection between either pair, other than Strange and Fist are both mystical in nature, and Punisher and Cage are both street level.
