We already played that game in the Henry Cavill's Hair thread. Sadly, nobody won.

Pay attention on what pictures u think hair looks bad, because there is a LOT of manips around that ppl thinks its real. Even some sites are releasing this manips as official pictures.

I did the original one with the bad cape-collar connection. I manipulated the hair, but not the size or shape. I just gave it highlights/definition (pulled from the other picture). It's a very accurate representation of how it looks during shooting at least.

I like the hair you did. Hope it is closer to the real deal!

That hair wouldn't work for anyone. It was more old fashioned than any incarnation of Superman ever looked.

I love how someone can make an obnoxious, sarcastic comment about someone presenting their opinions as if they're facts (even though the person in question actually did no such thing), then literally 7 posts later say, "Now I won't discuss this further because what I've stated is fact."

Why's everyone complaining about a regal-ness about the costume? That makes no sense to me.

I really like the costume. Of course the classic look remains my favorite, but I don't see it as "my way or the highway". It's a different vision of the suit for a new film series, but one that still retains the spirit of the character.

That allegory came much much later. It's documented that Superman was inspired by flash gordon and other pulp heroes at the time, not to mention the refugee parallels. Read about it. Now I won't discuss this further because what I've stated is fact. If you want to continue, PM me.
Superman is closer to the Golem than he is to Jesus.

Um . . .

Although this topic has been beaten to death here, (probably multiple times) might as well address this.

Not that Jews cannot base something on Jesus, but the fact that they were born to Jewish immigrants doesn't exactly back up the idea of Superman being based on Jesus, but, one might think, perhaps the opposite.

That being said, he was based off of Moses. Superman was not sent to be Earths "savior." He was sent there to save himself. He grew up to "save" the people of his new world.

That being said, christ mythology has been very much injected into Superman mythology, not that it doesn't fit. There are also parallels between Jesus and Moses.

Also, only Shuster was canadian.

And Clint Eastwood to play Superman!

And Frank Sinatra to play Dirty Harry.

Thank heavens for little favors...

I kind of disagree. I see where you're coming from but the Golem was arguably more Frankenstein then Superman.

I like the costume enough. I just don't love it. It's certainly not a 10/10. It should make sense for this film but there are some pics that just don't scream Superman. It's almost like the more I see it the less I like it. Some of the details seem unnecessary. I'm hoping it will look better on film.

Except that... the Christian milieu, culture and symbols dominate in North America. It's fairly obvious that Donner and Singer found something evocative in the Christ allegory (notwithstanding it's commonality to other mythologies). And they're both Jewish.

Oh, I run into a few who thought it was a tad heavy-handed - in both films.

well, both of them did... even Singer admits to seeing Superman as a parallel to Christ
