I actually joined one of your games in the 30s last night and was going to get involved but my xbox froze (twice). Probably due to being on nearly 24/7 for the last 2 weeks!

i agree with all of this....part of the challenge is managing what resources you get and making it work

leave the "cheat codes" for the kids

It can't hurt to try. I met one of my favourite people to play with hunting for a co-op partner on a Splinter Cell: Conviction forum. We both didn't even have mics, our playing styles just synced lol.

Anyway I don't care much for pissing matches when it comes to games, just do what you like. For example I earned all my Halo Reach achievements legit. Just because some people boosted for them in full parties and can show the world they "did" the same thing doesn't take away from how I felt when I finally unlocked them after playing for hours. They wanted to take the easy route, I wanted to play and earn them. No skin off my back.

Liked:
-the personal stories (Marcus/Adam, Cole/his old life, etc.). This game felt much more character driven than the other games in the series.
-insanely epic final act. awesome.
-interesting new enemies
-more COG characters that were actually interesting
-CARMINE! totally awesome character and his ending was great.

Dislikes:
-Dom's death and general character arc. Dom had some awesome potential in this game with his depressing story from Gears 2, but instead he's just kinda wasted. He barely does anything at all before his death, so instead of feeling sad about it I was left kinda lukewarm. Kind of a wasted opportunity.
-Unanswered questions. Who is The Queen? Why does she look human? Why were the Locusts literally never effected by immulsion when they were always on Sera?

Overall, the general "flow" of the story is what I think I was most disappointed with. I still really enjoyed playing through the game, but instead of hitting story beats that felt like the story actually had weight, it was more of "clear this area to pull this switch, move to next area." Fun, but could've been more interesting.

As for multiplayer, I just can't get over the insanely inconsistent damage system. It just makes me want to rip my hair out. I've always been a Gears fan so I know that it takes tons of bullets to kill someone in MP, but that's not really the problem for me. I find it so frustrating when I clearly shoot a dude with 2-3 shotgun shells only to have the guy roll around on the floor and gib me with one shot. It's so inconsistent, man.

Yeah, I finished the campaign today and I've been left luke-warm by it all ...

Imo there were very few genuinely memorable levels ...

It was as good as it should be but less than it could have been.

and also something I didnt like. I dont think Michael B Jordan did a good job as Jace. I like him as an actor but for me he just didnt seem to fit the character.

Okay so something weird is going on that I just noticed. Not sure if it's always been this way or not.

I'll play a match and at the end of it I only get around half of the total xp I actually got for the game go towards my overall xp. So say I earn 9.000 xp points for a match but at the end when it's adding up the total I only get around 4,500.

Again, I don't know if this has been going on forever but I just noticed it. This happening to anyone else?

It's hardly a big deal... I mean, you still level up pretty fast. I mean, I'm already level 60 and my friend is level 81. It's not like you still wont reach 100 WELL before onyx everything anyway.

The XP decrease doesn't bother me so much as gun stats not increasing in modes outside of multiplayer. Ok, so 6000 kills with each gun? I'm NEVER going to use a Hammerburst in versus that much.

And besides, it's practically discouraging people not to play horde, beast, or arcade for that matter. Seriously 3.0 forces people to boost, pure and simple.

I'm going for it, but damn, it will take a long, long time. Someone should inform EPIC that there are other games coming out.

You're already level 60 and i'm level 58 because the xp wasn't cut in half until yesterday. If it'd always been like that we'd be level 30.

Onyx everything? Please, i'll sell this game long before I even get half of the medals onyxed. There's no way I'm dedicating 500+ hours of my life to getting 100 gamerscore.

Eggsactly. 6,000 kills with the Lancer and Gnasher I can handle. Retro will be an annoyance but do-able. Hammerburst and SOS is cruel. I hate those 2 guns so much. They suck. Right now I'm only trying to get the silver medals for those two guns. Since I started using the Hammerburst i've played about 10 full matches of KOTH and only have 36 kills with it.

I personally thought Jace was completely useless. They added too many new characters already, so there wasn't much for him to do...yet, for some reason, he was always there. They should've just added Anya and maybe the Australian chick and that's it. Oh, and Carmine, obviously, since he kicked ass. But once you start bringing in old faves like Hoffman and Dizzy and yet new throwaways like Ice-T and Hoffman's wife or whatever it just becomes totally convoluted. The franchise is about Delta Squad; or, more specifically, Marcus and Dom. This game kinda forgot that balance, IMO, and ended up a little unfocused.

As for the .5 XP thing, I'm in the camp that thinks that's such a crap move. The XP was fine the way it was. What, do they think people are going to play their game for longer just because they have to grind more? That's lame as balls. It's not like getting all Onyx medals won't take fifty billion hours anyway even after you reach lvl 100, so IMO it's an unnecessary change. So, congrats to EPIC; their XP change actually made me care less about grinding to get lvl 100.

They did this because they realized that their xp output now is too high thus people are reaching level 100 too quickly. There's nothing wrong with changing it up.
