Avenger cameos?

I'd like the movie to be an Avengers-free Iron Man. Just to surround the franchise with different characters and see a stand alone Iron Man movie. They are free to do that now after The Avengers, at least for a while. With Pepper, Rhodey and maybe Coulson, I think that's enough known faces. Let's see a fresh take on the character, for a change.

Since the Iron Man movies essentially established SHIELD and the Avengers Initiative I think it would feel weird if there wasn't a couple of cameos. With the first two movies it feels like they are part of Iron Man's world. Though I don't want it to feel intrusive.

COnsidering Kevin Feige's comments about Marvel Films post The Avengers leading Into Phase 2 of The Avengers Intitaive bringing Into The Avengers Sequel.So there will likely be some kind of appearance by Shield or other Avenger.

Samuel L jackson has 5 more films on his 9 film contract so his appearance could be based on what films do they really want Nick fury.
Cobie Smolders has 6,or 7 films she Is committed for after The Avengers.Sooner or later maria Hill will show up In film that Nick fury Isn't In.
It won't be Chris evans.He has made clear He Is only doing Cap and Avengers sequels.Chris Hemsworth reportly signed 7 film deal when he was cast as Thor.But,Thor 2 may be filming when Iron Man 3 Is so that likely counts him out.Mark ruffilo reportly signed for 3 or 4 films when he took over as Banner but unknown what Is the plan for future of Hulk.Scarlett Johansson reportly signed a 5 film deal when she was cast for Iron Man 2.But with possibilty of Avengers trilogy as well as Black widow and Shield Spinoffs they may not want to use her options for Iron Man 3.

Rather than appearences, I would kinda like some explanations as to why they won't appear. Just to acknowledge that they're in the same universe. They might even use that to link to the plots of the other characters' respective sequels.

Considering that IM3 is said to be part of 'phase 2' of the MCU, which is the build up to Avengers 2, then I think we can safely assume some sort of cameo from the Avengers and SHIELD.

If they did something along an Amor Wars storyline then Cap showing up to oppose Tony would be a very easy thing to see happening(since, y'know...it happened that way in the comics).

I wouldn't go *that* far. That crosses the line from being a walk-on cameo to becoming a full-blown co-starring role. Tony/RDJ don't want nobody stealing his face time.

Question is how will the do Iron Man 3 after the Avengers? Given that they seem to be
taking on the Ultimate take on Avengers and having them be a team assmbled by Shield. Will Tony be allowed to run around and do hiw own thing now that he has to answer to Fury?

BAsically there has to be one or 2 Avenger's cameos in the film or it won't make sense in the rest of the Marvel Film Universe.

I don't necessarily think it should happen in the next Iron Man movie(IM3) but if and when they ever get around to adapting the Armor Wars storyline(which I've always wanted to see more than even DIAB) ideally Cap should be there. He has a small but significant role to play that echoes the themes of the entire story....that two sides can both be doing what they think it right and still be at odds with each other and sometimes there is no simple distinction of which path is right and which is wrong.

In a sense, Armor Wars is kind of like Civil War 1.0
