"taking more risks, being more unconventional. Also being more modern and relevant."

Yeah, definitely. To be a lot less black and white than we've seen before, also regarding both the hero and the villains.

I also think in this particular case they refer to a harder or more hard-hitting Superman who'll probably take some good beatings while delivering a few devastating blows himself. Yeah, expect the action to be intense and slightly scary. There might even be casualties.

Oh yeah, I also hope they step it up in terms of action.

Yeah, I"m getting the feeling that "edgy" is going to pop up a lot in the interviews for the movie.

It might get really old even before all the PR starts where they'll no doubt market it as Nolan's Batman-version of Superman.

I don't expect Superman to be so different as to be dark and tortured and not what you expect. He will still be kind, humble, and fighting for the greater good etc., just that his motivations to be that way are explored in greater depth.
I hope you are both right.

and I want Lara to have a bigger/more important role here in MOS.

Usually, it's Jor-El who gets most of the spotlight with Lara taking a backseat. I want both parents to be equally important to Kal.

Same with the Kents.

It might get old to us, but it's the smartest move for priming up the general audience.

It's kind of sadly true. The general audience need something easy to grab on to and Batman is just more easily embraced whereas you get a lot of people resistant to Superman.

Smartest and most sanely obvious thing to do in this business. Of course that's the route to go and I dont mind either. As long as it doesnt overshadow Snyder and his achievements.
