I really don't see how the official synopsis for the 1st one would seem something better than this one's to people. They sound equally simplistic cliche crap, with Liam Neeson kicking all kinds of ass in them. Which is the only thing that matters, really.

It was ok. So Liam doesn't get kidnapped? I thought the synopsis was both he and his wife get kidnapped and the daughter had to save them.

Definitely needed a better "I will find you, and I will kill you" speech like the first movie's trailer.

They certainly wanted to recreate that "you'll be taken" speech. But the way they went about it was between between subtle and obvious that it just felt like a parody. Started laughing when he started to say it.

I would actually been interested in that. Quite a different approach to the genre but the payroll would be off the charts and sadly due to various rights studios would never let it happen.
