So on Saturday I did this monster.http://www.spartanrace.com/
Was supposed to be a 5k with 10-12 obstacles. Ended up being 3.8 with over 20 obstacles, couldn't do an obstacle? 30 burpees. This thing was intense, the trails were through steep, muddy slippery hills and lots of cold water and mud. We had to army crawl under barbed wire through mud for 200 feet, then scale a 15 foot wall, then 150 more feet under the barbed wire. And that was in the first half mile, so the rest was all of this with about 10 pounds of mud on. Only 75% finished and I was one! To give an idea, we finished in 2 hours and that was a little above average finishing time. |

C20 is pretty good. I drink mostly Amy & Brian's. We're about to start selling it at our gym. That and Larabars. We get protein powder from Stronger, Faster, Healthier and the post workout protein is amazing. I drink some right after a workout and the recovery time is almost instantaneous. I like to put the protein powder in the coconut water. Makes for an awesome protein shake.

I recommend the dark chocolate kind. I used to drink coconut water frequently. I bought mine at natural food stores. I usually drank Vita Coco...they have coconut water mixed with fruit juice, too. I still drink it at times, but I've heard a lot of debate over whether or not the health benefits are really as great as the hype...there is no documented scientific research that I can find proving that it does anything other than hydrate you, in which case, I prefer water, as coconut water is expensive. It's mainly very trendy right now amongst celebrities.

I just use the post workout. You should be able to find coconut water at pretty much any natural foods store. Whole Foods, Wild Oats, Vitamin Cottage, etc.
