Try different combinations over a month and see what seems to work best for you. Meaning, one month try one ratio, then the next try another.
I'm eating an incredible amount of protein, but I'm really not sure about the amount of carbs . . . was this formula that you gave me for carbs?

Protein. Ideally, depending what school of thought you follow, whom you talk to and so on, carbs and protein should be a 1 to 1 ratio. But, that is just one way to approach it, and generally the rule of thumb if you're attempting to bulk up.

But other ratios you can use would be.

1/4 g of carbs per 1G of protein.
1/2 g of carbs per 1G of protein.
3/4 g of carbs per 1G of protein.

Again, experiment, from what I've learned this is a bigger factor than anything. It also depends on your goals of course.

Other diets also have high fat intake from healthy sources and people report body fat loss while gaining lean body weight.

yeah . . . those figures are actually pretty low based on what I've been reading for carbs, which isn't necessarily bad or hard for me to follow, just surprising

I recently lost 20lbs, and got down to about 20% bodyfat; but I've started taking creatine and my nubmers are weird; not sure how accurate, but most recently I weighed in at 196lbs and almost 25% bodyfat

I SERIOUSLY doubt I've gained all that fat back so quickly (less than a month) but I've been consuming about 215g or more of protein everyday, and trying to keep my fat on the lower end (0.8g/lb) is what I've read, but I will play around a little

Good for you Bob. Just doing, is better than not. Once you have a very specific goal, for example Spoons wants to lift a house, with that being his goal, he has put a lot of time and research into learning how to go about doing so and what the best methods would be.

But making it simple often yields great results! Congrats!

If you haven't seen it tossed out around here, check out www.leangains.com

It's fairly chaotic in terms of content, it's good info, lots of knowledge, but it's not set up in a very well organized manner. The general idea behind it is, that the human body actually responds to muscle gain and fat loss better when going through fasting periods through out the day. Meaning, eat for only an 8 hour window and fast for the other 16. There's quite a bit more to it, but check it out and see if it interests you.

Also, if you're not aware of reddit, www.reddit.com/r/fitness, tons, I mean, tons, of knowledge there.

Also take a look into paleo diets if you haven't heard of them either.

I just want to ask you guys if what I'm doing seems ok to you. I usually have 3-4 peices of bread through out the day, mostly suppressing my hunger with green tea. At night,I each either vegetables and meat or just vegetables. But i try not to eat very much. I have probably 1 cheat day a week, but I don't pig out. Thats the diet side.

As for workout, I do cardio by jogging in place with high knees. 5 minute sets interchanged with push-ups, core exercises, or squats, depending on the day. I do this for 30 minutes. I have no rest days.

So far I've seen results but my weight isn't going down. My clothes seem to fit better tho. Is there anything dangerous about what I'm doing or is this ok?

I'm 22 years old, about 5'8 and weight 206-210lb.

Hmmm....first question is, what are your goals? (be specific in your answer)

Diet sounds like you are not getting enough calories and seems low in protein. An easy answer (if you are trying to lose some weight) is to drop the bread snacking during the day and have an actual meal with lean protein and veggies.

The workout sounds fine, just a little redundant and boring. Again, your workout should be based on your goals.
Based on the workout you listed, I have NO IDEA of your goals...it just sounds like general fitness/endurance type stuff.

At the minimum, I would switch up some of the exercises just to keep it interesting. Based on what you are already doing, there are plenty of exercises that you could substitute-jump rope, BURPEES, shadow boxing, lunges, BURPEES, bear crawls, BURPEES, etc, etc, BURPEES, etc and of course you could throw in (again, depending on your goals) some weight training or resistance band training, kettlebell work or whatever.

Here is a webpage with 50 bodyweight exercises you can do to mix things up:

How can you gauge fat loss if you are putting on muscle? weighing won't be accurate.

yes, I'm actually very familiar with this, and it was an incredible strategy for me during my weight loss/cutting period; I kind of do it to a degree now, but I have to eat so many calories to get the amount of protein I need to build muscle, that it's hard to restrict it to such a short time period; I believe in this approach more than eating 5-6 small meals a day though . . .

Anyway, I picked up the ' ole weights again after a two/three years stop (kids, new home, issues etc.) started in may with 180 pounds and now I'm up to 194 pounds, with minimal fait gain due to (I believe) IF. I have an eating window of 7 hours in my bulk and it works out fine.

Here's me last week.

http://i49.tinypic.com/2eb74lk.jpg

I incorporate a lot of compounds like deadlifts, squats, bench, pull ups while doing a three day split 30 to 40 minutes a day. Works great! Haven't done a single bicep curl.

My goal is 209 pounds (natural!) and than a cut to ten percent fat, I finally want me some abs in my thirties!
