Inspired by the "State your opinion on a character" threads in both DC & Marvel comic sub-boards here, and the possibility of the Spider-Villain some of us expect to be behind the giant robot in The Amazing Spider-Man game trailer.
I will come up with a Spider-Man villain once every 24 hours, and you should say what you think of that villain Done so far *Earth 616: Spidey foes: Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:

Spider-Slayers are cool. I liked that JJJ hired Spencer Smythe to create them to destroy Spider-Man. Great stuff. And in Slott's run and in the recent issues he's even referenced that continuity and that was awesome.
When I think of the spider-slayers I think of the cover of ASM # 373 with the art by Mark Bagley. It's such a great cover with Spidey tangled up in webs. I think it's the conclusion to the Invasion of the Spider Slayers story. It also has a nice place in my heart because that's about the time frame when I started getting Spidey comics regularly

When I think of Spider-Slayers, I can't help but think of ASM #192, "24 Till Doomsday", where a dying Smythe handcuffed JJJ & Spidey to a bomb so he could watch them die before he succumbed to cancers created by working with the Slayers... It's fantastic stuff, and really blew me away as an 11 year old Spidey fan when I read this stuff back in 1978...

His stories are some of my favorite, this I tell you
The guy is a d***, based on J.J's anti-Spidey editorials he builds a Spider-Slayer, Spidey outsmarts it, Jameson kicks him out, he tries it again and fails, then becomes a villain. Jameson only asked him to build a Spider-Slayer twice, once in ASM 104, another in 191, and Smythe blames Jameson for causing his illness for making him build 1 Spider-Slayer after another

Really dig Scorpion. The character, like most old school Spidey villains, have gone through a lot of changes. Recently I think they just don't seem to know what to do with the character. When the Venom symbiote first bonded with him I thought it was really cool and then they just kept the symbiote on him and he just kind of eventually became another Venom knock off, which Scorpion certainly is not. I'm hoping that Slott brings him back into the fold and revamps him to get him back to his roots.

The Scorpion is my favorite as well, and I hope with the recent upgrades, he's back to his rightful place as one of Spidey's foes that is stronger than him and can give him a hard time... as opposed to the "joke" he had become over the last 20 years... Venomsymbiote aside... it's probably a good thing that the nme "Venorpion" didn't stick...lol
It's funny when you think about it... Mac getting the symbiote... because for all intents and purposes, the Scorpion was the first "Venom", in the sense that he was a villain that was naturally stronger than Spider-Man, and should have been able to defeat him easily if it wasn't for Peter's brains... And that's 2 villains in a row created by JJJameson... we got more?

Yeah, that's right! I forgot that JJJ also funded the creation of Scorpion.
And I also totally forgot that when Scorpion was created he was supposed to be the "arch enemy" for Spider-Man. Scorpion vs. the Spider. Unfortunately that was not the case because we all know who turned out to be Spidey's arch enemy.

Scorpion is an interesting villain, and really underrated. As the late Rodney Dangerfield says, "No respect."

Bwahahahahahahaa.... nice one... maybe not JJJ sponsored, but certainly influenced...
Man, those Stillwell doctors really got the bad end of their creations... If you're going to make a villain go up against a "Spider"-Man... you'd think that a fly would be last on that list... "Come into my parlour..." I wasn't a big fan of the Human Fly, though I did enjoy his first 2 appearances, in ASM Annual #10 & ASM #192/193... probably because I was a young Spidey reader at that time... around 11 years old... I liked his recent appearance in Venom...

When was he resurrected?
Thought a fly is a ridiculous idea, the wings and the eyes are interesting enough

I think it was an early issue of the Punisher's comic that came out in 2007... the Hood, using the powers of Dormammu, ressurects 18 villains killed by the Scourge, the Human Fly being one of them, and tells them that the Punisher was the Scourge and sends them off to kill the Punisher.
Lot of good D-list villains came back thanks to that story, especially some Spidey ones... like the Mirage, the Basilisk, Red Abbot and Cyclone... though a few of them got killed "again" by the Punisher... lol

Nice the Blood Rose! Not really a villain that jumps out at you but I was getting those Web of Spider-Man comics during the Rose storylines and they were some fun Spidey comics.

Agreed. I've always liked Sauvik's art as well. It still looks as good as it did on his Web run on his current Sunday run of the newspaper strip. Such a great, no nonsense, somewhat gritty look that went perfectly with Web's underworld crime stories that frequently went on in that book.

He's a messed up moron
"My father is a guy I am so proud of I brag about him being my role model to me fellow college students" Then "EGAD! I'm the son of a big crime boss, I must hide from shame, I must become a master criminal myself to fight him" Guy has ridiculously goofy responses, and the "ROSE" name is stupid, I don't blame you for not being a fan. I like him though

You know, if you refered to the twins from ASM #208, which I bought off the rack when it came out, I bet I could have a better conversation about them than this guy... I have the issues that he appeared in, but at the time, I was going through a hectic period in my life, and I'm not sure if I even read them... so I have nothing to say about this Fusion... though the on-line reviews gives props for Jenkins' creation.

When the HobGoblin first appeared, having bought the issues off the rack at that time, it was brilliant...
As a reader, I was familiar with the Green Goblin thanks to Marvel Tales, Mego toys, and syndicated episodes of the '67 Spidey cartoon... and this new "Goblin" was an awesome mysterious breath of fresh air... unlike Menace, the mystery surrounding his identity really got the readers amped up... the HobGoblin was an instant hit with me... and a foe to be feared... However, within a few years, Hobby fell to the same ill-fated fate as most new popular characters from Marvel (I'm looking at you, Venom & Danny Ketch Ghost Rider)... over-exposure with no to limited charcter development. After ASM #251, you can almost see the "change" in his character... and it wasn't pleasant... and after reading Web of Spider-Man #38, I was sick and tired of him... it wasn't until a decade later when Roger Stern's HobGoblin Lives mini series made me feel like HG was relevant again...
