Oh Jackal... what to say about you.
I have a real love/hate relationship with this character (as I think most Spidey fans probably do). On the one hand he created some of my favorite characters like Ben Reilly and Kaine (and you could even argue Punisher from an indirect POV since his first appearance was working for the Jackal). On the other hand, in the 1970's he was pretty much a Green Goblin clone after Norman died (they needed someone who was green, insane, knew Pete's ID and was someone he knew on a personal level (before every villain was connected on a personal level) and had an obsession with Gwen). And his 90's incarnation... wow. It epitomized everything wrong about the clone saga. The endless Spidey/Gwen clones, the stupidest world-domination plan I've ever heard ("let's replace everyone with clones!") in Maximum Clonage and the worst jokes ever uttered by a character in comics. And now his current continuity is almost as confusing (but not quite) as Mysterio's. We don't know if the current one is really Miles, if the 90's one was really Miles, if he's alive, if he's dead, etc. So... I'm glad for the other characters Jackal brings to the table, but not so much for the character himself. Perhaps that answer was a bit convoluted.

No argument about him making the Punisher, that's pretty accurate
I love how he looked at Carlie and responded to Captain America: "She's no Gwen Stacy, I won't clone her if you paid me to"

He faced the Hulk, Iron Man, Doc Samson, and others, but still more fun as a punching bag for Spider-Man

Rhino is a great villain, IMO. Always has been and always will be.

I love the rhino, even though he's a one trick pony... and in ASM # 625... a Rhino story, I had my first ever letter printed in a Spidey comic...

That's awesome. Sadly, none of mine have been printed yet, but maybe they will some day.

The Rhino...
The best thing the Rhino did was be Harry's patsy during his early 90's Green Goblin stint when he went after Peter Parker. Spidey beat him up and Rhino pleaded that he was only doing it for his family. So Spidey asked him "What about Peter Parker's family?" and beat him up some more. Pure awesomeness.

The Rhino is kind of a one trick pony but I really liked what they did with him during the Gauntlet arc in BND. They really added a new element to the character and gave even more reason for him to be mad at Spider-Man.
From what I've seen he'll be popping up again in the Spidey book so I'm looking forward to that.

I love Rhino. I'd like to see him as a hero for a little while as a change of pace. His appearance in Silver Surfer during the Infinity Gauntlet crossover was one of his best stories. He did semi-heroic stuff there and it showed there's some potential for him as far as that goes.

^^ Yeah, that could work at some point. Though, I wouldn't want him to stay that way.

Heck yeah, I loved that Spectacular run by Buscema. I have most of those issues too and now it makes me want to dig through them. Of course, Spectacular Spider-Man # 200 was..well, Spectacular.

Towards the end of his run the art became a little unbearable. I put most of the blame on the inker, Bill Sienkiewicz. I don't know why the editors thought that combo worked well on Spider-Man because it didn't. Then again, these were the same editors during the Clone Saga and a lot of common sense constantly went out the friggin window.

I thought his run near the end got better than what we had after the Sin Eater Death for a while, wrinkles were all just thick lines, it was annoying to look at even with his great art

Rhino is terrific. His first appearances are such great stories - and they're the ones that lead us to the big Mary Jane reveal, so they're classic just for that.
